@renee:).

You know that you must have Java installed twice, do you (Java Active X for Internet Explorer / Java for Firefox.)?
Your Plugins list in firefox should not only contain the "Java Deployment Toolkit" but the "Java Platform" as well. Under "Addons" you should find the "Java Console" being installed. (As shown in my screenshots)

If you don´t have these, go here (for german language) with your Firefox Browser, not your Internet Explorer - otherwise you´ll automatically get Java for IE, when you click on "Download". Download and install it.

Some possible solutions you may find here in case your youtube problem should be of another kind:

Yes, unieno:thum: - it´s good to keep our brains alive (to some degree or the other:lol:.)

--------------

Yesterday evening - frozen mouse, bluescreen (memory manager), corrupted files again. Now I try a SATA hdd as bootup and system storage device (instead of my Intel SSD). If it runs stable for a week, then the SSD should be to blame:rolleyes:.

I ban faulty hardware and software:D - would be nice, if my ban worked.

Thanks, ararat, I had all installed (Java Console).
starting FF in safe mode didnt bring any success, I
followed some suggestions from the website you listed
have copied NPSWF32.dll into Mozilla plugins, deactivated
silverlight. However, when I open
about:plugins
I see that Mozilla Default Plug-in is not enabled.
but it is enabled in the addons,
something is wrong, perhaps I should de-install Mozilla
and re-install again (I hate to do that and only if I must),

I have to finish, I will try tomorrow again,
thank you ararat :thum:

Yes, unieno is right:thum:.

Before uninstalling FF, I would on top get rid of MS Silverlight (I myself refused to install it, when it was offered by Windows Update - don´t miss it in any way up to now;)), then clean the registry and afterwards reinstall FF. Otherwise you may keep some hindering registry entries (should Silverlight have spoiled s.th.).

In case, this doesn´t work (but I hope, it will:thum:), the cleaner probably didn´t find all.
Most automatic registry cleaners do not remove all troublesome entries possible. There are mostly leftovers (folders, files, entries).
First, useless old folders, which should have been deleted by a programs uninstallation routine, have to be searched and removed from harddisk or the automatic cleaner considers a regsitry entry referring to this folder and the files inside as a correct entry and won´t delete it.

A good tool (commercial software with 30 day trial version), I use, is JV16 Powertools. It does file- and registry- cleaning jobs automatically and manually (with headword search) and can even repair entries in case only paths have changed. But one must know, what to do - otherwise windows or applications can be ruined (no problem, if windows is still running - the program produces backups for restore). It can also deinstall software (automatically) better than the windows "programs" function in systray.

But, I hope, you won´t need such a powerful tool for this job. PCs sometimes can really tramp on people´s nerves:rolleyes:.

(I wouldn´t change too many FF settings using "about: plugins/config", or I would print out the original settings before doing some changes there).

Abracadabra - I ban the faulty entries on your pc, renee:).

Thank you a ll for your valuable suggestions, I did
not uninstall Firefox, I did deactivate Silverlight
(the reason I got it is because I couldnt see a video
once and they told me to install silverlight
I got so upset and fed up with this problem that I let it go.
Yesterday at Midday I went into a forum and
they posted a youTube - and I could see it and play it also,
I do not understand what happened, I only know that
the night before I couldnt see anything.
youTube must have been feeling sorry for me and reappeared :D :D

Maybe Silverlight loads s.th. into RAM, that hinders Firefox to play Flash (Youtube) videos?
Maybe you first had to restart your PC after deinstallation of SL in order to get rid of the software in RAM. So you deinstalled it and despite of that it could still have been active (The disturbing parts). When you next time started your pc, SL was not loaded any more and therefore Flash videos worked in FF again. (Only an attempt of mine to somehow explain the behaviour of FF not playing back Flashvideos - just a theory).

Just stored my pc in a parcel. Has to be repaired. I found out (using latest memtest86), that a hardware problem must exist. RAM probably gets too hot, when playing computer games. Memtest found many faulty data returns, when pc was hot after gaming.
So, tomorrow the pc will be collected from my home by DHL parcel service and be sent to my pc/hardware dealer. Will probably take two weeks, or more, before I get it back:rolleyes:.

Using my Mac, now.
I ban faulty hardware:eek:.

Perhaps you are correct about the silverlight, ararat,
I feel that computers do have a mind of their own,
sometimes.
It is strange that you have problems so often with your PC,
you have a very sophisticated and
expensive one. Maybe get another one only for gaming ?

Be it as it may, Ill ban you now, ararat. because you are
not doing your duties writing your novel, you are doing
everything but that :)

How is your little pueppi (cat) ?

@renee:): Gaming IS the problem. You need Hitech Hardware, if you want "power" for gaming. This hardware tends to get hot. If cooling isn´t perfect, these pcs tend to get busted sooner or later.

Gaming pcs = Hot and sometimes overheating racing horses.
Office pcs = Cool and more reliable mules, that sometimes tend to buck, too.

Püppi´s fine, but not too comfortable with cold weather and snow outside. It´s always a pity in winter. But it´s her will to live outside.
Yesterday evening, drinking water was frozen. She was licking ice. So I went up to my kitchen and got fresh water for her. She was very thirsty. Will have to take care that she gets fresh, warm water at least twice a day.

You´re right with my novel. I should go on writing.
So I stop posting now, because I´m already late and still have to order some railway tickets online.

This time, I ban you, unieno. Just, for being pityful and friendly with me in your last post :D:D:lol:

Can´t play with my pc, anyway:mecry:. I sent it to my dealer to have it repaired.

Wouldn´t start playing with my Mac (although possible to some degree). My MAC should only be used for Internet, Mail, Writing, etc..

Will have to use my Playstation 3 for some time, if I want to play. Seven unused PS3 games are waiting to get played, for a long, long time already.

Really intended to go on writing, yesterady.
(I don´t have to start my novel - I have to go on with an already written one on about page 900 and will have to write another 800/900 book-pages.)
But there were too many things to do (work - not play).

Today it probably will be the same (a long "to-do-list"), but tomorrow it may be better (I hope so, because I REALLY should go on - I paused for much too long.)

So I should ban all work that stops me from writing:D.
But there should be some time left for music ...

Is that still your first book, ararat ?

Well, its great to see and listen to youTube again,
this song must have been put together, I cant
believe that Micheal Jackson has ever made machine music
(thats what I call it (synthesizer/electric ),
that sound has no soul :)
I cant ban anybody tonight, its time to go to bed
where its warm and cozy .

Still my first book, but part #2. The first part (round about 850 book pages) I already printed out as a book. But the second part I should have spent more time upon. It´s only about 35 Din A4 pages up to now (probably 65 book pages without index). So there´s still a lot to do, because the first part is only half the story.

Yes, the MJ Song is a bit synthetic, perhaps, but I like it:).
I grew up with electric, elecronic, synthetic music. I didn´t prefer Beatles or Rolling Stones (Too tame, lame), but Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Iron Butterfly, Golden Earring, Blood Sweat & Tears, Frank Zappa, Klaus Doldinger´s Passport, Volker Kriegel´s Mild Maniac Orchestra, Inga Rumpfe´s Frumpy, Kraan, Pink Floyd and many whom I don´t even remeber any more. Either the music fit for headbanging or it was somehow psychedelic but very seldom it was music to calm my nerves:D.
The only way, I listened to classical music was in progressive version (Emmerson,Lake & Palmer´s version of Mussorgski´s "Pictures at an Exhibition / or Ekseption´s "Trinity").
This year wasn´t my classical year, anyway. Very often deleted recorded classical concerts this summer, because the music didn´t touch my heart and kept me bored to some degree (of course and luckily there were few exceptions, though). 2010 I rather listened to pop/rock.

I wouldn´t really call the MJ Song above synthetic or metallic - it´s only a highly compressed poor quality mp3 recording, that would sound a lot better if it were a quality 24 Bit 41 KHz wav file. But of course, you´re right - I would prefer smoother and better quality for this song, too. Would suit this song much better. But I didn´t find a better recording on youtube:eek:. Was already sorry for that, when I posted the link - should have commented my post.

The song is a new version probably done over in studio for the new album "Michael" (released this year) as it seems.
There must have been an older version.

QUOTE from youtube user: I love this song....I've had it on my ipod for ages, they leaked this version awhile back, it was going to be on Akons album way back when they recorded it and MJ was still alive....
Perhaps the older version was better? Never heard it before.

Here´s another version (parody):
YouTube - MICHAEL JACKSON - HOLD MY HAND [OFFICIAL PARODY]

Don´t ban anyone today:):D:).

That is a funny clip :D

You must write a very interesting story to keep a reader's
attention in a book of 1700 pages.
Will it ever be published ????

Im not banning anybody , its the weekend,

@renee:): Even, if I finished my book next year (what presumably won´t be the case), I wouldn´t publish it before I get retired (Could explain this to you only in a PM;)). Maybe I´ll even write a third part - although the second one is meant to contain a kind of finale in the end.

@a911:): Oh, how unfair:D of you to tell us, you won´t post here again and ban us all at the same time. That´s tricky;). So you leave no chance for us to repay. If you play fair, you will return and post that you´ll come back from time to time to this thread. Then we can ban you:D - what´s the use of banning you now, if you don´t want to return anyway:confused:?

@unieno:): A friendly hello of yours is always worth a post:thum:.

Have a nice sunday all of you:clapping:
