The heaviest problem people have, is, when updating Norton. It´s a mess and there is only one secure way not to get problems.

Before updating, all old Norton products should be deinstalled first, using the latest Norton Removal Tool. It´s a MUST to use NRT version 2011 to remove Norton product 2010 and then e.g. install Norton Antivirus/Internetsecurity 2011. An older version of NRT won´t do the job. Many people, ignoring this, get problems. But using the correct NRT version everything works fine.

I had forgotten about this and should have ignored the Norton Update popup window on my desktop. Should have used NRT from the start. Hopefully I will remember next year.
---------------

Slowing the system down is not as bad as it was years ago. Copying large files works much faster now. During work I don´t even notice that Norton exists on my pc, except it tells me, that it has just scanned my pc in the background or that a just downloaded file is o.k.. Years ago this was different and Norton annoyed me to such degree, that I replaced it by other solutions.

-------------

I use Norton Internet Security for three reasons:

a) I get 3 licenses for free from my ISP (Telephone/DSL-Provider) every year.
b) I like the sleep mode of Norton (ideal for gamers), which automatically turns on, when I start a full screen game. Other Antivirus solutions tended to let games crash.
c) It doesn´t interfere too much with my work. (How often did I have to correct settings or define firewall rules manually in other protection solutions, because progams were blocked from working:rolleyes: ... ?)

Besides Norton, I already used Avast, Avira Free Version, F-Secure, Kaspersky and McAffee. They all have their pros and cons. Not one of them didn´t annoy me with some kind of behaviour. At last I returned to Norton (use the third version now 2009-2011) and I´m satisfied.

So I ban all of you:), because I can´t agree:D:D:D.

well, if I would get three licences for Norton every
year for free, I might consider using it also :D

AntiVirus/Int.Security programs are very personal I found,
I always read posts of members that ask: what is the best
AntiVirus ? All of the answers that I read show that
there are many that swear on this AntiVirus or the other, that they never had problems with it and that it is the best
there is.
Best is to try them out all (cracked ones) and then decide
which suits them best - and buy it :)

Sorry, ararat, your excuses of using Norton are weak,
its all about money :D and thats why I ban you :thum:

Have to ban you, renee:), because you ignored my Norton pros b) and c) which have nothing to do with money:D
( a) was sleep mode for games / b) was nearly no interference or molestation when using my pc.):D.
I would even buy Norton, if I had to;).

Oh, I read all your abc's, ararat, and only reacted to the
one that stuck out the most to me, Im sure you would find
d.e.f.g.h.i.f.... reasons if somebody would ask you of more advantages of using Norton :D

Alright Im banning myself because I just love to tease ararat :D

(btw. I hard deleted your other post because you wanted to get rid of it - one less postcount now )

Thanks for hard deleting my unwanted post, renee:) - had chosen the wrong TAB (instead of "Re-use the Letters"-TAB) in Firefox, when I wrote it.
But I ban you, renee, for one post count less;):D:D (I never maintained, that I always make reasonable decisions - perhaps sometimes.)

@DodoSerebro:) - Thanks for asking. My back is meandering between good conditions and painful states, depending on whether I sit, lie, walk or stand.
Whereas the first three body postures let my feel like normal, especially the last bearing is poison for my back (unavoidable when peeling potatoes, cutting vegetables in my kitchen) - hurts awfully after a few minutes.

Massage helps a little bit, then, but unfortunately I can´t fully move my right arm behind my back (shoulder joint aches for some weeks already). So I use a massage belt, which I can move along my back, holding its´grips in front of my belly.
But this only helps for short. Sitting down for some minutes and leaning back my back helps for longer. So I have to find the right balance between moving, sitting, reclining and standing.

I ban myself for writing whole novels here:rolleyes:.

By the way "novels" (4 Word Story - don´t want to interrupt the story there, so I write it here):
We´ll never end in an interesting story, if only four words can be used. The story already to some degree developed in a boring way. It´s nearly impossible to give it a direction with four words. We´ll always stay at "he loves her/she loves another/he must hide this/ she must hide that".

Perhaps one should start a 3 to 12 word story?
Then it would be possible to write things, like
post # 62 > Yes, she is with
post # 63 > an egyptian horus priest, who had casted a magic spell on Trisha...

She then would not be in love with the priest and would perhaps be used by the greedy man to hand him over Archibald´s money. Trisha would have to betray Archibald against her own will, although she is in love with him ... and so forth.

Only a proposal;)

:)
Well then I ban myself, for still having kept strictly to the four word pattern in "Four Word Story", today.
(Visited this thread first, this morning.)

I think 3 - 12 words should make the game more interesting and easier.

On one hand, nobody needs to write more than three words
(There is already one post with 3 words in the game - and there are many with a little bit more than four),
on the other hand people like me need limitation to 12 words - otherwise I might write pages:rolleyes::D:D.

That's a good idea writing pages, Ararat. :D:D
I think you have nice vision and talent for story writing. :thum:
Why don't you start one.I would like to read it.
I'll ban you if you don't write a story....:D :) :D

You are right, ararat, those three/four word stories
tend to go into nothing, I never liked them

so, go ahead, make it a more words thread
if you like- make it a minimum/maximum word thread,
so unskilled writers like me can participate :)

And I ban Dodo because she started that thread and (as I have predicted) hardly comes back to it :)

Have to ban you, unieno:), for banning me, if I wouldn´t write a story. You are setting me under pressure:eek::D.
By the way, I am writing a novel - more or less from time to time - but it´s in german and will still need a long time to get finished - especially, because I take too many timeouts.

Today I won´t write anything acceptable if I don´t get a clear mind again- feel dizzy - mixed two component glue an hour ago - opened all windows for a long time, but can still smell it - my head is a brainless empty balloon, at the moment:eyecrazy:.

I should ban renee:), too, for banning dodo, but I won´t. (At least, dodo proposed an interesting game.)
Have to ban Dodo:), too, because she rarely participates in her own game:D.

Still in a good mood, although I had to flash my dreamboxes anew.

(Had copied a self written Unix Shellscript onto the boxes, as someone advised me in dreambox forum, to get NTFS support for USB hardisks - but the boxes wouldn´t boot up any more with this script.)

Problem is solved and I reached NTFS support by another method. Now friends can bring their media harddisks and we plug them into the box to playback and watch pictures, movies, etc..:)

Here two Youtube Links for those, who don´t know, what I was writing about last sunday.

YouTube - Herman's Hermits - No milk today (No milk today - Herman´s Hermits)
YouTube - Small Faces - Lazy Sunday Afternoon (Lazy Sunday afternoon - Small Faces)

Won´t ban anyone today:D.
