"Was seen" - before he died - thought the same in post #73 already, a911.
The only thing I can imagine, TheHighLander:
e.g. "to see somebody home" means "to accompany somebody home",
but "to see" needs a place/direction to get this meaning - otherwise it does not mean "to accompany".
If this was meant, the riddle should have been s.th. like this:
The criminal was seen home / to the site of crime by the died man.
(The killed person voluntarily accompanied his murderer to the place where the criminal murdered him.)
Am I guessing in the right direction?
