Angelina Love Unpopular in TNA, DiBiase/Orton at WMania?

PWTorch.com is reporting that despite visiting friends backstage at TNA's last taping, Angelina Love was not very popular amongst most of the talents in TNA.

We reported before that The Miami Herald ran an interview with Lacey Von Erich, and she alluded to Angelina Love having a bad backstage reputation and that no one in the locker room seems to miss her now that she's gone.

Ted DiBiase, Jr recently sat down for an interview with The UK Sun, and he had the following to say concerning Randy Orton and a possible match between the two of them at Wrestlemania: "When Randy and I had the match [on Raw], that was a really good reaction. I think people wanted to see Randy get his butt whipped. Headlining a WrestleMania with Randy Orton would not a bad deal. Whether we love or hate each other, are with each other or against each other, that would be a dream come true."

Report: Dixie Carter Not High On Putting Stock Into Lashley

PWTorch.com is reporting that although TNA President Dixie Carter was initially very high on Bobby Lashley, her interest in pushing him as a main event player has diminished. Carter is currently pushing for a youth movement in TNA, and wants to focus the company around the upcoming pushes of AJ Styles, Hernandez and Matt Morgan.

While Bobby Lashley is still considered useful to TNA, Dixie Carter doesn't want to give him too much of a push as his MMA career will be an obvious distraction for Lashley down the line. Carter and TNA feel that they would rather focus the company around wrestlers who are full-time with TNA as opposed to talent who take frequent breaks to pursue other interests.

JR Speaks on JBL/WWE, Hell in a Cell Sunday & More

Jim Ross has updated his blog over at JRsBarBQ.com. Below are some highlights:

"JBL was unavailable to attend the 10 year SD show but he's doing great in business and life in general. John is playing golf this weekend at Pebble Beach...not bad for a country boy from West Texas. John's wife Merideth Whitney is featured in a great op-ed piece in Friday's Wall Street Journal."

"It looks as if Vickie Guerrero may be returning to Smackdown as a manager. More on that Friday night on Smackdown."

"Hell in a Cell this Sunday will be an adventure with three main events inside the Cell. I'm intriged as to how they will all have their own identity and look forward to the PPV."

The Rock's SD! Promo, Samoa Joe/Tsunami Article, More

John Schimek sent along the following: Just read an article on Fox News about Samoa Joe using Twitter to help efforts to raise money for the victims of the recent tsunami that struck the Samoan islands. Good read and nice to see a major news affiliate cover a story about wrestling without taking any cheap shots and they impressed me by actually doing some research about Joe, spelling his name right and mentioning he is the current X Division champion. You can find the story at FoxNews.com.

For those interested, WWE.com has footage of The Rock's promo from the Decade of SmackDown! special last night up on the website.

Ben Roethlisberger Defends His Decision to Host WWE Raw

TimesOnline.com has obtained the following comment from Ben Roethlisberger concerning his decision to host this coming Monday night's edition of WWE Raw: "I got asked to do it. Vince McMahon asked me to do it, and I said, ‘Sure, why not?’ I mean, it’s our off day. I talked to (Tomlin) about it. I didn’t really ask for his permission. I talked to him about it to get a feel for if he was going to have a big problem with it. I figured he tell me. But like I said, it’s our off day."

Lacey Von Erich Tweets on Angelina Love; Calls Her "Amazing"

In what appears to be a change of attitude, or a move demanded by TNA, Lacey Von Erich has posted the following Tweet on her Twitter account: “I hope everyone enjoyed the show last night! Angelina Love was amazing in the beautiful people and I hope I do it justice! P.S. Don’t believe rumors! I think Angelina will be missed in TNA and hope we can work together someday!”

At this point, it could be speculated that Von Erich made her initial comments towards Love in the Miami Herald interview as a work, and she was playing her Beautiful People character, however, most wrestlers shoot during interviews with The Herald, so it remains unclear whether or not Von Erich really meant what she initially said.

TNA Asks Lacey Von Erich To Apologize For Love Remarks

Prowrestling.net is reporting that there is internal heat on Lacey Von Erich for what appeared to be shoot comments made towards Angelina Love in a recent Miami Herald interview. We reported earlier that Lacey Von Erich commented on Angelina Love by saying that "[Angelina] wasn't a good fit for it in my opinion. I thought that everybody was going to be, `Oh no. Angelina is gone,' but not one person said that. Nobody really missed her that much. I feel like I can fill the shoes that I'm supposed to."

According to the report, when TNA officials got wind of Von Erich's comments, they ordered her to apologize to Angelina Love and made it clear that they were unhappy with Von Erich's actions.

Off-Air RAW Notes: Young Fan Stretchered Out After Accident

Neil Trama sent along the following:

I just got back from the live Raw in Wilkes Barre, PA and thought I'd send along some notes.

Dark Match:
-Jamie Noble beat Heath Slater with a sunset flip.

Superstars:
-Ted DiBiasi beat Evan Bourne with Dreamstreet.

Post Show:

DX and the Steelers celebrated at ringside with the fans. Did a lot of hand shaking and posing but that was all. Justin Roberts wished us goodnight.

Not a ton of stuff happened but it was a very fun show. I've been to every WWE show in this arena since they started coming in 2002 and this was among the best shows live. No real dull spots and the crowd was very into it. Can't speak for the rest of the country but our crowds were always filled with backwards nostalgic Attitude era fans (lots of old Austin/nWo/Rock shirts, "what" chants, etc.) but tonight was almost all kids with their parents and fans who seemed really into today's product, which was nice to see.

A kid got hurt going for Cena's cap. I didn't see the injury happen but I was told he tried running down from the 100 level to ringside to get it, tripped, and fell down the stairs. He had to be stretchered out during the Swagger/Primo match.

Biggest pops:
--Cena
--DX
--Jeff Hardy in the video packages

Biggest heat:
--Ben Roethlisberger's introduction (didn't get booed again after his first time out)
--The Miz
--CM Punk on video packages (maybe the crowd didn't like the way he was dressed.)
--Orton and JeriShow also got great heat from the fans you'd expect to boo them but they also got a good amount of both "we're cool and cheer heels" cheers and "we know you're a bad guy but you're also a big star so yay that you're in our hick town" reactions.

WWE Article On Double-Guest Host For RAW Next Week

The following is from WWE.com:

Fights, camera, Access!
Written: October 5, 2009

This Monday, Raw’s cup will runneth over. In addition to the usual deluge of Divas, two more sexy, smart and powerful women will drop by: Maria Menounos and Nancy O’Dell of Access Hollywood. The showbiz insiders are being honored as special guest hosts for the evening with plans to spice up the proceedings.

In addition to their hosting duties on Access Hollywood and Monday Night Raw, O’Dell and Menounos are both keeping busy with other projects as well. For her part, Menounos has been spreading the word about her upcoming comedy feature "Serial Buddies," due out in 2010, while O’Dell continues to crusade for a cure for ALS, or Lou Gehring’s Disease, through her charity Betty’s Battle, which was named for her mother who passed away from the disease in 2008.
