New JR Blog: Last-Minute Changes At HIAC PPV, More

The following are highlights from the latest online blog of WWE Hall Of Fame announcer Jim Ross:

"HIAC was an interesting event from my perspective at ringside. I found out somewhat later than usual that the Punk-Undertaker was going on first which changes one's dynamic as the biggest match SD had to broadcast was that particular one. I actually enjoyed the wrestling side of the World Title bout and "felt" the story that was being told. I assume that Punk will get a return match in the future but don't know the official date.

Morrison and Ziggler continue to both be a "work in progress" and I felt both showed great promise and potential during their IC Title bout. Both men need to continue to build their foundations and I feel comfortable in saying that both are going to be significant stars sometime in the future. These two young men's future isn't about "titles" but building their body of work and developing their personas. I see Morrison and Ziggler as two of the shining, young stars on the SD roster.

The tag title bout at HIAC was excellent. Lots of classic tag team strategy utilized and the 4 SD stars give me more reason to look forward to going to work Tuesday in Trenton, N.J. which is JJ Dillon's hometown.

Tough spot for McIntyre and R-Truth to find themselves in at HIAC but every PPV is more apt to have those occurrences. The only thing that they can do is what they did and stay focused and work their butt's off. Better positioning will hopefully be in the future for these two. I do like that young talents are getting opportunities nonetheless.

The challenge of making 3 HIAC bouts all unique is undaunting. I am an old school fan who would prefer to see one HIAC bout per year but times change and new concepts have to be tried nonetheless."

Austin Forgets His Past In WWE?, Cena News, Natalya Pics

Anthony R. sent along the following: I was watching the interview "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was doing in Europe. During the interview, when the host mentioned the Hell In A Cell PPV, Austin said that he has never competed in one. He must have forgotten some chunks of his career, since he competed in two. One at Armageddon in 2000 against five others and another on Raw in 1998 in a tag team match. I just wanted to pass that along.

-Today's WWE.com "Superstar of the Day" is John Cena.

-Today's WWE.com "Daily Diva" with a new photograph is Natalya.

More Off-Air News & Notes From WWE Hell In A Cell PPV

Paulie NYC sent along the following:

Hey my name is Paul, and I wanted to give you guys a quick report from a fans point of view from the first ever Hell In A Cell PPV tonight. Overall, the arena filled in very well, after a very empty arena just 10 minutes before the PPV. There were a good 40 or 50 seats that went untouched on the hard camera side. Matt Hardy defeated Mike Knox, in a borderline boring match. After that we wnet on the air only to find out that the Undertaker and CM Punk match would open the show. I was surprised on why they opened, but just found the article about the incident Punk was in on the overseas tour. Interesting what happened, but we'll find out in the next few days.

After that the PPV flowed pretty well, there wasn't alot of the whole entertainment portion tonight, which was refreshing. Like I said the show flowed well, untilllllll the Diva's title match. U could hear a pin drop during that match and I sat in section 105, and I screamed boring multiple times, which might have been picked up all across the arena lol. Other than that and the R-Truth and Drew Mcintyre match drawing no crowd reaction (why that match made the show I DON"T KNOW) I enjoyed the show.

The tag title match had a hot crowd, with a good amount of love for Jericho and Show going around. But what had me on the edge of my seat was the Cena and orton match. Just to see the look of dissapointment and sadness on these little kids faces when cena got punted, was absolutely awesome!! The crowd was veryy pro Orton, and it seemed as if Cena was the hell in the match. I know for fact I was marking out when Orton won. It felt like the late 90's all over again. Kids crying, and girls with their faces in their hands made my night.

On to the main event, the match seemed to drag on but I thought was great. The crowd was into this one alot, and it was just as loud as it was from the opening bell. After the show seemed to go of the air, a stretcher was brought out for Cody, and Ted acted like it was is wife or mother on that, it almost looked like he was about to cry. He also shoved one of the refs pretty freakin hard into the security wall, as they were wheeling Cody away. I thought that weas hilarious.

So the first show at Prudential Center I thought was pretty damn good, I as well as all the other Randy Orton fans, left very happy im assuming, and looking foward for when they come back to the Metro area (Oh wait, thats Raw on NOV 16th, which I'll be at so expect another live report)

TNA Wants Terry Funk For PPV, Note on WWE's Australia Tour

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that TNA has contacted Terry Funk about making an appearance at this year's Bound For Glory PPV. The company wants Funk to get involved in Mick Foley's angle with Abyss.

WWE is billing their upcoming Australian tour in 2010 as "The official WWE tour of 2010." It's being said WWE is doing this so that fans don't confuse their tour of Australia with the one TNA is running and the one Hulk Hogan is running which is being billed as a "Hulkamania" tour.

Report: Backstage Reason For Last Week's Dull Raw Show

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that last week's rather uneventful edition of WWE Raw was mainly due to both the creative team and the talent roster being worn out exhausted from overseas tours and having little time in between PPV's to rest and book. The creative team, as we reported a week ago, was not happy with the way booking was happening for The Hell in a Cell PPV, because they felt the nature of the show left little room for creativity on TV.

As far as the talent goes, most of them worked overseas tours in Central America and Europe, and then had to fly back immediately to tape Raw on Monday night, creating an altogether lackluster Raw heading into the PPV.

Update on Jeff Jarrett's Current TNA Status & TV Return

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Jeff Jarrett's TNA future is still being debated, and that TNA President Dixie Carter is expected to be the one that makes the final decision as to what is going to happen with Jarrett. At this point, Jarrett is working from home, helping to promote TNA events such as the Australian tour coming up in 2010.

In somewhat of an update, it appears as if things between Jarrett and Kurt Angle have smoothed over considerably with sources claiming that both Jarrett and Karen Angle were very supportive of Kurt during his recent situation with Trenesha Biggers, aka Rhaka Khan. In light of this, it seems inevitable that Jarrett will return to TNA TV at some point down the line.
