Echolink el 3020 problem

i use an echolink 3020 ir plus and i update using usb2rs232 cable and it works perfectly.
the only problem i have is that when i want to check the epg for the whole day the decoder goes off.
any firmware to correct this...

i tried updating thru usb to rs232 on my laptop, won't work. i tried using the rs232 cross(change to 2 to 3 and 3 to 2 wires) cable with the 9 pins both ends it updated. my problem now is showtime will pop up then disappear, the other scrambled channels are ok.
please advise what is wrong.

there is a new update program ali-dvds-021909 but when i updated using this the message was update error so i used the 021709 version.
is there a rule in updating the software of the decoder, that is, do we have to update to the version before the newest so we can update to the next latest version. Please i need your expert advise. thanks.

in single searchn there are other items here which i am new at, please advise on what parameters i should put on the following
1. lnb = standard, user or universal
2. diseqc
3. tp
4. fta only
Is ok to use multi search instead of single search, because multi search does not have many details to input.

I was able to scan(single search), following your instruction to the letter.
However after scanning, the same channels were there. The orbit channels which I did not have are still missing. Please advise what is wrong with my receiver. I used nilesat101/102 as satellite, disabled diseqc, fta = no, polarity = auto.
the only orbit channels that i have are tcm, animal planet, bloomberg.
I am having espn but i think they are no longer broadcasting in orbit.
