hi, naveed68.
I don´t want to praise XFS too early, but it seems as if my recordings are getting better now.
Don´t know, yet, if they are completely flawless, because I´m recording too many broadcasts at the moment and don´t want to download (Ftp) recordings for analysis while the boxes are busy.
But I played back some recordings (3 mins playback - jump forward 5 mins - 3 mins playback - jump ...) and they looked good. Before I formatted with XFS, I had bad dropouts (many times frozen picture for 1-2 seconds). Didn´t find any freezers up to now.
But I can´t really say if XFS is responsible for the improvement.
New 3.5 hdd in box1 is a lot more silent - but I changed my old 750 GB disk for 2 TB hdd - maybe the old harddisk was responsible.?. With OE2.0 the old disk had defeinitely become much louder than ever before. (But I didn´t try to format that - wanted to keep some unseen recordings.)
My 2.5 disk in box2 was always silent, but had spoiled recordings with ext file system and OE2.0, too. If new recordings are flawless, I still can´t say if XFS is responsible.
Maybe formatting the disk did the job alone, already? Perhaps if I had formatted with ext4 the result may have been the same?
I once attached additional ext4 disk to dreambox OE2.0 - but that hdd was in USB housing and not attached to SATA port of dm8000. The USB recording stopped too early after 45 minutes although the timer entry was set to 90 minutes. Didn´t use that hdd again.
---
Today I found out, that I had attached new fans in my dreamboxes upside down. So I opened both boxes and installed them the correct way, this morning.
Now they are louder than they were yesterday. I set them in FanControl2 plugin not to start in standby any more (except during recordings / access to hdd).
On DMM board somebody posted that he got no more "Tuning failed" messages any more since he installed a fan in his box - seems to be true - not one single message since installation in my boxes and usually I got some from time to time.
No freezing boxes, too, since I set both to fixed IP (no DHCP). Emu seems to work better, too.
Seems as if my boxes are working well overall with image 20120608 (except HBBTV/Webbrowser still slow and buggy), but five minutes ago, I noticed there is a new OE2.0 image 20120612.
Hopefully, that one won´t spoil anything ...

off topic:
Ambilight has no effect on 3D - but it´s better for the eyes and is a nice addition, when you have movie time.
Big harddisks I built in only to have many recordings / much choice for visitors. If it were only for myself, I would build in a 250 GB SSD harddrive. Most recordings I delete without storing to dvd/bluray - many I didn´t even watch.
Some I keep and those that I like most, I buy as original bluray disc to have them in 1080p with 7.1 sound.
(I´d very often like to extract a movie from there because of annoying restrictions on bought discs - I know how to do, but I´m too lazy for that.)
When watching on 21:9 tv, I get full wide angle picture without black bars on top/bottom - then with 7.1 Amplifier surround sound all gets more real - even better than in cinema. Now, with 3D even more fun for visitors and myself. (I´ve got lots of 3D glasses at home.)
II´ll play a round of Thief3 (Deadly Shadows) now - Thief4 may come this year - I´m waiting for it - I installed old version, played through it three times and now I play fan missions.
