Hi @moonbase, thank you for this, yes i understand this being the case. its the reason i am sceptical in investing in a RX8200 device as i suspect most legaues will move over to BISS 2 in the next few years. this is why i am exploring the cheaper option of using a sat pcie card. But i wanted to know if its possible to achieve the same or better latency using the card and vlc player vs the rx8200 IRD?There is currently no way to view biss-2 feeds unless the RX8200 or appropriate receiver is registered with the EBU database and has the appropriate permission for the feed in question.
You can load biss-2 firmware into an RX8200, no problem. However, the receiver still needs registration and permission via the EBU.
This situation is likely to remain, receivers and TBS cards will continue to be unable to clear biss-2 feeds.
