Titanium Cardprog introduction:
The Titaniumcard is programmed in a completely different way than you are used from programming a Goldcard, Silvercard, Funcard etc. To start with, you cannot simply directly address the flash on the card. Also you don't need all kind of different programming modes. You only need a 3,5 MHz Phoenix interface. However, that interface needs to be a real serial interface (a real COM port) and not a virtual one like it is used on most USB programmers, nor an emulation. So a real COM port on your PC is one of the requirements for working with Titanium Cardprog 1.10 or older.
If you start Titaniumprog, you will see the following program window with a menu bar containing the menu option "IMPORTANT".
Click the "IMPORTANT" menu, followed by the selection "Read First!!!!". You will now be shown this really important message (see below).
In short this message informs you that you cannot write to a Titaniumcard, unless it is blank. So before you can start programming, you need to erase the card first. You can erase the card via the "Tools" menu in the menu bar, or via the Erase icon.
Oh yes, it also warns you that the use of this software may damage your card, but heck, you did not buy a Titaniumcard for the looks of it, did you? So forget about this nonsense warning. A blank card will not do anything more than a damaged one

so forget about the risks and put some files on it.
Now click "go on" to continue.
If you would try to execute the "Erase Card" function in the "Tools" menu now, you will notice that that doesn't work. This menu option is inactive at this point (see below).
To erase the card, you first need to connect to the card. So click the "Connect" icon now.
Now pay carefull attention please!!!
There are a few possible screens that may appear. What you get to see at this point, depends on the current O.S. on your card and the software version you are using. Let me explain that:
Possibility #1:
This is what happens if you use software version 1.9 to connect to a card, containing O.S. 01.03:
You will be urged to update your card O.S. to version 01.05.
Don't do that just yet!!!
Make sure you have read and understood the
explanation about the Titaniumcard O.S. before you start any updating
If you agree and do indeed want to update to the proposed version (01.05 in this case), you click Ja.
After the O.S. is updated to 01.05, the software will immediately want to continue updating the O.S. to version 01.06. So software version 1.9 does update one step at a time: from 01.02 to 01.03, then to 01.05 and finally to 01.06.
Possibility #2:
If you put the same card (O.S. version 01.03) in the programmer and start software version 1.10, you will be urged to upgrade to O.S. 01.06 directly.
If you are sure you want to update your O.S. you click Ja.
So software version 1.10 allows you to update from any version to O.S. 01.06 and downgrade to 01.03 again. Software version 1.9 allows you to upgrade, step by step, from O.S. 01.03 to 01.06. So if you download both software versions (1.9 and 1.10) you can put any popular O.S. on your card.
Possibility #3:
This is what happens if you did not (yet) erase your card. In other words, if your card is not in Virgin State.
As explained above, you can only program a Titaniumcard when it is in Vigin State. So all functions in the software are inactive (see below) until you have successfully erased the card.
Your only options here are:
- Erase the card now
- Disconnect the program
Possibility #4:
If your card does contain the latest available O.S. (v01.06) and is properly erased, then you will be presented with the screen as seen below. In this case, you can immediately start programming your card.
So far this introduction to programming a Titaniumcard.
Good luck!
