I've had the 9000HD for 3 months, and after playing with 30+ images, i settled for Sif 0.75RC1 as more stable. Still crashes here and there, mgcam recording problems, flaky E2, etc etc. coudn't live with it.

I spent a lot of time trying images, configs, plugins etc etc and it was becoming too much time and nerve consuming.

Wife was complaining too, and had guests a few times and really got embarrassed having to revert to CableTV to watch it before them.

So the DM8000 works flawlessly, latest DreamElite image is a peach, no reboots for weeks, let alone crashes. Much more mature and wife is starting to love me back again.

I'll keep the IpBox for future when stable images come in and use it on my bedroom where i have a normal receiver for now.

Thanks to all who helped me and shared their knowledge and keep up the good work!

I'll drop here too to help and answer fellow friends when i can.

Cheers.

:) :) I have been in your position year ago, so now I have dreambox and ipbox together. My wife hated the damn cuberevo too.
I doubt that the cuberevos will ever get stable Enigma2. The manufacturer does not have the license to develop E2, and third party groups just are not capable enough.

DM8000:) is really much better than IpBox9000:rolleyes:. I have both boxes and until last week thought myself, too, about getting rid of the ipbox.

Until then I used my ipbox as cable receiver. Very dissatisfying behaviour of ipbox - faulty recordings with more or less sound dropouts or artifacts. (Maybe the box has problems with CI Modules or decrypting - On cable RTL and other "Free TV ?" channels are encrypted - so I used Alphacrypt)

Now I connected the ipbox (replaced tuners) to Sat via single lnb with Loop through cable.

First time that I flashed Enigma2 Image (SWF Vizyon 8000 E2 Image) on ipbox9000. I like the box much more with that:D.
I must admit that I only watch unencrypted free to air programs with it, but for this purpose the ipbox runs fine.
... as long as I don´t try to record an hdtv channel while watching another - even on same transponder. That´s no problem for my dm8000. It works perfectly with single lnb and loopthrough on sat, too - even with two encrypted hdtv channels at the same time and the use of CI Module Alphacrypt).

Of course the ipbox9000 is not such good quality as the dm8000, but with E2 Image I can to some degree live with it. E2 is much better than original DGS or Abcom Image and is worth a try before disposal of the box.
But I would never buy the box again because of it´s weak performance on hdtv and encrypted channels.

Greetings

I tried all images mate, Vizyon too, but still can't say it was stable. As you say cccam does not work reliably, and honestly i got tired of a inferior product that is not supported by the vendor, and left chasing bugs and hoping other people will make a better image.

well, i would love to try the DM8000 but as it does not have a HDMI, it is a no go for me, i mean come on i would have to run 2 cables to my amp not just one, and i could then not do hdmi pass through (for SD channels, no point having 5.1 surround amp on for those), the only problem i have with the CubeRevo is that rewinding or fast-forwarding HD recordings or time shift does not work good at all, also you can not live pause a programme that your are all so recording (when you un-pause it just jumps to live, and you can't rewind or FF it at all.

i would love to try Enigma2 on my CubeRevo, but i cant get my internal card readers to work, i even purchased a Infinity Card reader, but cant get that to work ether.

Andyblac,

No issue with my image using stable NLB image . The fast forward and rewind work fine on HD recorded material. No hdmi out put on a HD box !

Cheers

andyblack: DM8000 but as it does not have a HDMI, it is a no go for me, i mean come on i would have to run 2 cables to my amp not just one

daxv8 : No hdmi out put on a HD box !

This is not correct. The DVI output is a feature of the DM8000, not a disadvantage.

1.)
- You don´t need two cables (picture/sound)
- The 5.1 Sound comes through the DVI/HDMI adaper cable (comes with the dm8000 box).

Just plug the HDMI end of the cable where you want it
(e.g. in my case into my TV-Set with built-in AC3 decoder, which passes the digital sound over to my homecinema 7.1 amplifier via SPDIF output).

You only need to select "Bitstream" for HDMI in menu. Then it works.

2.)
Second advantage of DVI: Your recordings are being played back without HDCP on the HDMI cable. No negotiation between TV set and receiver.

Dreambox hardware is excellent and not so crappy as ipbox 9000. But samthaman is right, that support could be better. (It´s not a catastrophy but improvable)

Yes, dm8000 is better than the ipbox. But come on, the price is double as the one of the ipbox9000.

This is the love for me.
the IP9000HD I have two years and will not change for a box that promised dreams.
he works well with the Sif 0.75RC1 and the few existing problems would be solved.
can you enjoy the dreambox to do and 1000euro

Well good luck to all the DM crowd. Personally I think the IPBOX is much better technically than any Dreambox. Please remember this... Oscam could be the next cccam and it works as well on the Ipbox as anywhere. And there are no cheap and nasty clones of the IPBOX! Don't forget as another poster said ... It is a half price DM!

It's all about Rock and Roll :).
I am happy with 9000 specially with cable tuner works perfect all this freezing problems can be caused by different factors specially if you keep in closed place where it doesent have enough air but for me there is no doubt ipbox is best.
Cheers
