It's quite easy now to install e2 on the 91 on flash
just format an usb key with hp tools in fat 32,copy the new firmware (must be named usb_upgrade.img or won't work), remove the key from computer the safe way (safely remove hardware) then connect the usb key onto the 91,connect the power cord keeping the power button pressed until appears usb on display..
It takes ten minutes, more or less, you'll see Er than Fl until done. Reboot and it's done!
Ciao

It's simple, don't buy an Ipbox 91HD unless you want to have lot of problems. It's the worst abcom's receiver ever.

Yes, firmware is the biggest problem on 91hd. Moreover, do not expect any support from ABCom. There is no extra audio output, no possibility to put harddrive inside the box - only usb connection, no serial port connection... That's my point of view, you can disagree, but I would never buy this receiver.

Just tried to install E2 with this instruction but it doesnt work with any images.
The first problem is, that the images (like AAF_F1_Image_IP-Box91_FULLUSB or others) is a tar.gz-file. Renaming this file to usb_upgrade.img and trieng to flash brings always an Error-Message "Er 1".

So, how can you install these kind of imagess, without getting a multiboot?

Ok the Sif ExtremeEdition does work, but this image is from january. Am I not able to flash the newer E2 Images? Every new E2-Image on the database is for USB, but how to get these new Images on my 91HD? Have I put therefore the multiboot thing on my box like described on the sticky howto? But i dont want the DGS-based thing on my box, because the menu is damn slow with DGS-images. No way around?

Image Sif ExtremeEdition v075 has the largest user space compared to the newest versions and the new version is not anything important.
( Original Enigma 2 was developed for receiver with 64MB flash - Dreambox 7025 and Dreambox 800/8000 ; IpboxHB/CuberevoHD are only 32MB flash ; it will develop for flash but will be handicapped by the small space )

The Sif-Image is really the coolest image i had on my box, but iam missing some Cams :mecry:
I need at last incubus and/or mgcamd but would have to install these on my own i think?

I just want to have a fast menu and these two Cams :)

I have installed enigma2 nightly build 092b and added mgcamd manually on my ipbox 91hd. Works ok. Still lots of room for improvement though. Hope things will get better. The 075-images do not work on my box, picture freezes every few seconds. DGS-based is ass compared to e2. Both usability and looks.

for Enigma2 flash
for make some room ( 2,5 MB ) , go with FTP client in folder /usr/local/share/enigma2/po , make un backup and delete foler 'de' , 'it' , 'el' and another denomination except 'en' , 'uk' and prefered language .

Thats a nice tip. Have been thinking about this. There has got to be alot of crap that can be cut to make the image take up less space in flash. People who customize and make the flash images should make note of that :)

Rename it as "usb_update" (if 91HD accepts usb_upgrade, to do so) not "usb_update.img" . The extension is already img and you dont need to write.
