Exactly why i adviced you should run recovery image in slot one then install android again in the android slot.

Solves most issues.
Thanks for your help, I am thinking about that if Dual team firmware creators aware about these problems.

Hi everyone!
I apologize for my ignorance: what are these special fw for?
Are they official?
My Qviart Dual doesn't recognize some images, for example Pure2: I can't flash the image but then the slot seems empty, without a name.
And then if I try to start Pure2 the decoder gets stuck on boot.
Do you think I could solve it with the latest fw 1.07?

The Special firmware are Android only and basically convert the box to use Forever. These play no part on the E2 side of the box.

In your case id just reflash the Pure 2 image.

With Pure2 I solved it by doing a reflash. Unfortunately, however, the update to special and then 1.07 created a problem that I didn't have before: I can't clean the slots with an ATV recovery image.
The decoder starts but has not cleaned anything, all 4 previously loaded images remain.
All this if I try recovery during boot, (with the front button) and even if I try recovery using the recovery menu, nothing changes

Yes, I have performed the procedure often, for years, I have not made any errors.
I tried both the recovery menu ("flash recovery image") and the startup method ("e2up").
In both cases by copying the "dual" folder to the root of the USB stick, as always.
After the reboot, however, nothing changes:
- I'm not asked which slot to flash the atv7.3 recovery image into.
- the 4 images remain in their slots.

This is after updating the Android fw with the special1.04 and 1.07 versions.
Now I've gone back to fw 5.0 hoping to solve the problem, but unfortunately I can't anymore, the slots are not reset and the ATV 7.3 recovery image is not processed
Thank you for your interest

I had the same issue it not recovering the slots as if it had not flashed.

Im struggling to remember exactly how i solved it but it was with the e2up method. At the time i had both the recovery image in zip/rar format and the dual folder on the USB stick im not sure which it used but it worked.

Its very important to load on slot one imge without adding or change any thing to it , use openatv 7.3
ok, this is clear, I will try as you told me, inserting in root usb folder "dual" and "recoveryimageatv7.3rar", without adding or change anything... but for how long? When will I be able to flash my 4 backups (including the backup I made today of atv 7.3 of slot 1)?
That is, if the restore were successful what should I do next?

To restore the image this way via holding the power button on the front until you see the different types of back up available. Then insert the usb stick into the front slot and scroll to e2upd. Leave it on this option and the receiver should start the download/update. If it is successful it will take about 15 minutes and it will put openatv into slot 1. After you have done this set up slot one and then load the other slots up with different images from the openatv in slot one.

https://www.sat-universe.com/index....id-9-0-combo-review-setup-guide.318890/page-4 look at post 69. choose the e2up option.

Thanks for the suggestions but I have known all the necessary procedures for more than a year now, the problem is getting the restore done correctly, as I have always done, dozens of times, until unfortunately I updated to fw "special".
I'll make this umpteenth attempt tomorrow, with dual folder and recoveryimage.rar as Ferret recommended).
Now I just wanted to understand (if I can restore...) when can I put my backup on slot 1?
Do you think it is better to manually reconfigure atv73 from scratch?
Or, after the restore, can I put the 7.3 backup in slot 1?
Sorry for my English, I use google

Once the recovery image has cleaned and formatted your flash you can then install your backup image on slot one.

One other thing to note is tried other USB sticks. The smaller the capacity the better.

I knew about the capacity of USB pen drives, in fact I have been using 1GB max 2GB pen drives for many years, never had any problems of this type until now, I don't think that's the problem, I've tried 3 of them.
I wanted to update you: I can't restore even by copying both the "dual" folder and recoveryimage7.3rar, as you advised me.
Now I'll try kegnkiwi's procedure, reading better, I've never read it online

nothing to do, it doesn't work, even if you insert the USB pen later, as you told me. If I remember correctly Doctor didn't have the same problem as me but I didn't understand how he solved it and if he solved it

Just out of interest have you tried the usb slot in the back instead of the front one?

Not yet.
Now I'm trying a deep formatting of the USB pen but I'm 100% sure that it's not due to this, because I've never had problems with my pens on the Qviart Dual.
Thanks for the advice, I thought about it for a moment but then I didn't try.
I'll update you...if my girlfriend doesn't throw me out of the house first😓

I've seen it where the front slot does not pick up. This is mainly on the android side but it's well worth a go as that's usb 3.0 on the back.
