Im on Viasat and Canal Digital, im sure it happend on several channels, HD or standard channels does not matter, if it´s a free channel it does not freeze.
1: if you do not see the freeze problem on FTA channels, you have a CS issue, being internet or wrong config used.
there are no softcam for viasat or CanalDigital.. only Diablo solution for now (Hardware cam)
If you picture with original cards keeps freezing and you also installed some bundle with key files, you might have corrupted mgcamd settings files.. this is in many cases a general issues with key bundles downloaded from internet.
if you have mgcamd+newcs with friend and you have "ONLY" added yourself to friend and nothing else with a NLB image, you should be fine. Secondary things to remember here, is FAMILY INTERNET.
Always remember cs is based on network traffic, if you got like 512/128 internet line and children are using it too, you got not much left for tv watching although packages are 10-20 bytes, the package sent with tcp/ip is still 1.4KB and requires a little more to be sent.
Another point here on HD channels.
If timeshift is enabled and you got external HDD, and its formatted "ext3" filesystem its simply not fast enough on USB bus to handle that much data.
try and disable timeshift on box and see how HD channels work.
reformat HDD using webif to use EXT2 filesystem.
simply try and remove HDD for a test and see how HD channels work now.
