1.00pm Millions Like Us (U) 1943 Fascinating British drama about the fortunes of a family split up during World War Two. The action focuses largely on the exploits of youngest member Patricia Roc, who hopes to do something glamorous for the war effort, but ends up working in a factory. However, she resolves to make the best of it — and even manages to find romance. Also starring Eric Portman, Gordon Jackson and Anne Crawford (888)
3.10pm The Raid (U) 1954 Van Heflin heads the cast of this dark, tense American civil war drama about a band of escaped confederate prisoners planning an attack on a Canadian border town. Their leader goes undercover as a businessman to get the lie of the land, but as he strikes up a relationship with a local widow and her son, he undergoes a crisis of conscience. With Anne Bancroft and Lee Marvin (888)
4.45pm Call Me Madam (PG) 1953 Ethel Merman stars in this adaptation of Irving Berlin's hit Broadway musical about a Washington hostess who becomes ambassador to a small European state and falls in love with the foreign minister. With George Sanders and Donald O'Connor (888)
6.55pm Explorers (U) 1985 A young Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix head the cast of this underrated sci-fi adventure, in which three boys intercept a message from outer space. Discovering it contains instructions for creating their own spaceship, they set out to trace the signal to its source. But the aliens aren't quite what the young astronauts expected them to be. Co-starring Jason Presson, Dick Miller, James Cromwell and Robert Picardo in three different roles (888)
9.00pm Austin Powers: The Spy Who S****** Me (12) 1999 Mike Myers returns as the spoof spy in this hugely successful sequel to the 1997 comedy. The retro sleuth is sent back to swinging London at the height of the 1960s to combat the dastardly Dr Evil. Unfortunately, his arch-rival manages to step back in time first — and steals the sex-symbol's “mojo”. Heather Graham lands the job of Powers' American partner, alongside Rob Lowe, Robert Wagner, Michael York and Seth Green (888)
10.45pm The Libertine (18) 2004 Johnny Depp stars as 17th-century poet and author John Wilmot who caused various scandals due to his dashing and debauched behaviour. Becoming a close friend of monarch Charles II (played by John Malkovich, who also co-produced), the rebellious writer enjoyed a relationship with a beautiful actress (Samantha Morton), but his lifestyle eventually caught up with him when he was exiled from Britain and later contracted syphilis. Rousing period biopic, based on the play by Stephen Jeffreys
1.00am The Trench (15) 1999 A platoon of inexperienced British soldiers huddle in the cold and muddy trenches in France awaiting the onset of the disastrous 1916 Battle of the Somme. As their vigil drags on, the tension becomes unbearable and the men begin to doubt their commanding officers are telling them the truth. Drama, starring Daniel Craig, Paul Nicholls, Julian Rhind-Tutt and Danny Dyer (888)
