External HDD for Vu+ duo

is there any settings needed to get my USB external harddisk recognized as a harddisk by mu Vu+Duo (black hole image) ?

objective is to record on the HDD ! and play from HDD !

ohh.. and one question (not related to this query) .. what are picons ??? i see these everywhere and i could not figure out what they are !!:mecry:

External usb drvies can be tricky use this plugin it will set it up

Picon are small graphics/icon of the channel your tunned to displayed in the skin on channel change

the above ipk did not work ! the installation did not succeed

Guess youll have to do it manually in device manager then mate but as said usb drives can be tricky due to the hardware in them not been recognised by the VU. USB powered HDDs rearl;y work at all.

message: dont try to use it in an image without USB drivers in kernel !!! ??? what does that mean ??

I think the plugin was made for a earlier kernel version as i said youll need to use device manager.

any tutorials available ? should i mount my usb HDD first ? to media/hdd ?

ok !! i finally got it to work !! i recorded on the HDD of my PC ! now when i come to play ! it is simply tooooo slow ! it cuts off and is unwatchable !! any ideas?
