Hi lt707 and all:)

Well I gave up laziness and at least I translated the How-To for plugin Video DB in English (#1 mentioned in my post above).

I also uploaded the HowTo file at german Merlin board, yesterday (older version with still a handful more mistakes), where the Video DB plugin got developed. So here a newer version. You can view it with your webbrowser - it´s a zipped HTML file.

Hope it helps :);)

Released this morning - so very early stage and it is no software for your dreambox but for Windows.
(*.exe file inside the *.zip file)
No translation, yet. It´s still only in german, but a translation tool for volunteers is already available at Merlin board.

Editor for Video DB2
(released today by lokutus2000 on Merlin board)

What is it for?
You can edit (under MS Windows) the database, that the VideoDB V2 plugin (mentioned in my posts above) created on your dreambox. So you may correct unsatisfactory results of the plugin.

The developers of
Video DB V2 plugin (Dr. Best)
and
Video DB2 Editor (lokutus2000)
cooperate.
Therefore in Video DB2 Windows Editor no functions will be included which may cause negative effects on the work of the Video DB2 dreambox plugin. (Hopefully ;))
This is, for example, why you cannot add new movies to your database with this editor tool. You still need to do this job with Video DB V2 on your dreambox.
But you may categorize an existing movie as a part of a series, change names, etc..

Of course you should always backup your database before editing it!

Hi sicer2005 :)

I´m not familiar, but possible solution:

laufwerke_0001.gif

Simple RSS Plugin for Dreambox 8000 OE2.0
Downloadlink above is latest version from dreamboxupdate.com

Luckily I found a website in English (with pics - but I don´t know, if it´s up to date)
You may expect s.th. like this (depends on your skin/image):
https://sites.google.com/site/allaboutdreambox/plugins/simplerss

Seems that Simple RSS plugin supports only one feed.

There may be some other - perhaps better RSS readers.
E.g. I know there is one available in GP3 Plugin
(http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=195097&page=8) for OE2.0, which allows multiple feeds.
If you urgently need multiple feeds, you could use the RSS reader that comes with GP3 plugin, but then you have to accept some changes being done to your dreambox firmware concerning e.g. how you handle your box with your remote control (like "BLUE button starts GP3 Blue Panel" and more).

Pics of GP3 RSS reader below are from Merlin Board, although GP3 plugin is software from IHAD board.

I tried this one and it is real simple RSS reader. This RSS is not what I need.
Excellent one is UltimeNotizie but there is only for OE16.
In this one there is extra feeds.xml in etc and you can easy edit it.
If I compare these two I could say that SIMPLERSS is complicated than ULTIMENOTZIE.

Hi sicer2005 :)

I don´t use RSS reader on dreambox - sorry - only on Windows, MAC (sometimes).
But I did not only write about SimpleRSS plugin in my post above.
I also wrote about GP3 plugin that gives you a better RSS reader.

SimpleRSS and the RSS reader inside GP3 are the only ones that I do know about, they are available for oe2.0.

There were other RSS readers on oe1.6, I heard about, but never used (in Newnigma, in different media center plugins and more that I never tried). These may already be available for oe2.0, too.

But I just can´t google everything that I don´t use myself - all different firmware images, plugins, etc. - there are just too many developing teams to keep an overview of all of them.
(My day only has 24 hours and I need at least some of them for myself ;).).
So Google is your friend, my friend :D ...
---

Edit: I just notice - the pics on Video DB Editor and on GP3 RSS reader, that I added the last days, have gone. Pics have been removed from Merlin board.
Sorry for that:mecry:.

Then, of course, you can´t see any more, what the GP3 RSS reader looks like compared to ULTIMENOTZIE.
The RSS function in GP3 plugin offers more comfort than SimpleRSS plugin and allows multiple feeds.
But, as I wrote above - GP3 plugin does major changes to your firmware (some of which you would perhaps even like - e.g. filemanager, NTFS support and much more.).

I seem to have left out the below mentioned features in Changelog for CVS Image 2013-03-02). - the ones that I talked about in my quoted sentence already.

More updates may (but needn´t) be available with online update of dreambox (Those which possibly can not yet be included inside the image file above, because they were only uploaded four hours ago to git.)
- linux-dreambox: removed dummy config option from defconfig (not implemented in brcmnand and not needed)
- base-files: recreate ubifs /data partition entry in fstab on base-files install/update
- use UBI/UBIFS for dm8000
- use UBI/UBIFS for dm7020hd and enable full 1GB flash space
- add possibility to build dreambox UBI/UBIFS NFI images (thanks to gutemine for some tests)
- linux-dreambox-3.2: add some patches for ubi/ubifs support
- linux-dreambox-3.2: Add patch to limit max nfs rwsize to 8K (thx to pieterg, Erik Slagter and sjaaky)

The most interesting ones are those on new support of UBI/UBIFS filesystem on dreambox 7020HD/8000HD (other boxes may follow). Before this firmware only JFFS2 filesystem was supported.
JFFS2 uses 10% less space in Flash, but UBIFS boots faster.

What does this allow?
Boot your dreambox 7020HD/8000HD about 30 sconds faster from standby (former called "deep standby").
Use complete 1 GB Flash on dreambox 7020HD instead of only 256 MB.
(and some more positive effects on flash organization)

(News on this in german language! http://www.dreambox-blog.com/index.php/7695/enigma2-update-30-sekunden-schnellere-boot-zeit-mit-ubifs).

BUT
ubifs will NOT automatically get used if you only update your existing firmware online.
A complete new flash of the box of firmware is needed
.

Or a conversion if you like to try a new plugin called MARSU, (THX to Gutemine), that can convert your image from jffs2 to ubifs.

Whatever you choose, better back up your existing firmware with DFLASH backup plugin, before you do the step from jffs2 to ubifs!
You may either
flash your box completely new, using latest firmware that already supplies you with ubifs
(CVS 2012-03-02 / Merlin 3 2012-03-03 already do - ask developer teams about ubifs support, if you are using different firmware _ I don´t know them all - so all examples are for CVS and Merlin images mentioned above.).
Afterwards you need to install your plugins, restore bouquets, settings, etc..

or you may use MARSU:

update your box online to get latest CVS 2012-03-02 or Merlin 3 2012-03-03 packages.
Don´t use Marsu on older firmware or firmware without ubifs support because latest packages and latest kernel (kernel-image >= 3.2-r10.40) need to be installed on your box!

Install MARSU plugin
Restart enigma 2
Start MARSU plugin and let it convert your firmware (GREEN button)

(MARSU will store an *.nfi file on your harddrive - usually to media/hdd/backup if you don´t change the path in options)
Flash this converted image to your box (e.g. with webbrowser or DFlash).

All your settings, plugins, bouquets should work like before:).

REMARK: MARSU plugin functions presumably later get implemented in DFlash plugin. Therefore MARSU comes without the ability to flash images to your box - only to convert and back them up.

Hi..
I have to read your post carefully, because is "succulent". Thanks :thum:
I had my dm8000 with last updates, but with this one, it was all fuc*ed up.
I think it was because Flash Expender, but i'm not shure, but no problem, new flash and it's all ok now.
I notice boot speed is much faster than it was.

I edit it because i flashed it it dmm 2013.03.02. So it is a ubifs image?
About Gutemine and dflash i read on Oozoon board it will be a new dflash 9.** when Marsu becames stable.

Sorry to hear

Hope new ubifs runs fine:thum:

Ehehehe
About ubifs image the only major problem was about my devices.
I have a internal hdd Samsung and a 16 mb usb pen.
Always, but i mean always, was known as HDD and usb pena as Cruzer.
With this new image it was duplicated, now i have a HDD and a Samsung part1 as Hdd drives and have a Cruzer and a 123454*** as usb.
But no big deal all works fine.
About the Marsu, i'll be waiting....

Just tried MARSU on both my dm8000hd with latest Merlin image.
Worked very well and very easy :thum:
Box boots very quickly from standby, now:thum::D

How I did it

With pc:
1. I transferred the MARSU plugin with FTP to media/hdd on my dreambox

With dreambox:
2. I updated firmware online in dreambox from Menu/Settings/Software/Update
3. I installed MARSU plugin from harddrive (Menu/Settings/Software/Local Install/Harddisk/....marsu....ipk)
4. I restarted enigma 2 (Menu/Start-Restart/Restart GUI)
5. I opened MARSU plugin (Menu/Addons) and started conversion with GREEN button (took ~ 5 mins for MARSU to create the new firmware in media/hdd/backup)
6. I opened DFlash plugin, pressed YELLOW button and selected the newly (by MARSU) created firmware to get flashed on dreambox.

My dreambox got flashed and rebooted automatically within perhaps 2minutes - DONE!

(Everything works as well as before - no settings lost - but boot time is reduced by 30 seconds :);):D)

Good to read that:D
In my case i don't need it. I flashed mine with last version "dreambox-image-dm8000-20130302.nfi".
As i said before booting now is much faster than it was before.
The only "problem" is my media, i have 2 hard drives, duplicated.
One is hdd and the other is SAMSUNGHD502IJPart1 with exactly the same files.

Yes MARSU works on 7020HD and 8000HD: both boxes boot at least 30 seconds faster.:)
(7020HD in addition - full 1 GB Flash accessable now)

But don´t use MARSU on older firmware!
Online update to latest CVS/Merlin3 as I already explained in post # 270 above (with MARSU plugin already attached for download here: http://www.sat-universe.com/showpost.php?p=1014094&postcount=270 )

Good additional remark, kiliantv:) - yes, of course you can flash with browser, too. You don´t necessarily need to install/use DFlash plugin. (That plugin is included in my Merlin3 image by default - that´s why I used that one for flashing. It´s just comfortable to do all with remote control.).

If you want to flash with browser:

With pc:
1. transfer the MARSU plugin with FTP to media/hdd on your dreambox

With dreambox:
2. update your firmware online in dreambox from Menu/Settings/Software/Update
3. install MARSU plugin from harddrive (Menu/Settings/Software/Local Install/Harddisk/....marsu....ipk)
4. restart enigma 2 (Menu/Start-Restart/Restart GUI)
5. open MARSU plugin (Menu/Addons) and start conversion with GREEN button (takes ~ 5 mins for MARSU to create a new firmware in media/hdd/backup)

with pc:
6. ftp the converted image (...*.nfi file) to your pc (DCC e2/FileZilla or else)
7. flash this image with your webbrowser onto your dreambox

Advantage of MARSU: The converted image contains all your settings, plugins, softcam, bouquets. So you get a wonderful complete backup file of your box in addition to faster boot:)

Strange situation with my recorded movies.
I have advanced Movie Selection plugin. As always did. Use it to play my recorded movies/series. But now I can't.
PVR button opens my movie list ok to play and nothing happens.
On the other hand, GP3 Blue Panel, File Browser, go to hhd/movie, green/play and they work.
So it's Movie Selection that is not working.

Sorry to hear:mecry:, lt707:)
I asked on IHAD board about this (my first question there, ever - some minutes ago) - but no answer, yet - of course.

I am not using AMS myself any more
OpzIqbcaq0yV206FuQ94vWGwlR37mBzrdWLMX7ncsnNaS7WK8fM9fJAAAOw==
since I switched to Merlin 3
OpzIqbcaq0yV206FuQ94vWGwlR37mBzrdWLMX7ncsnNaS7WK8fM9fJAAAOw==
(no GP3 as well any more), because I just tend to delete movies too often. I record, watch, delete them and perhaps burn few recordings to disc for playback on standalone blurayplayer.

As far as I read on IHAD, some changes were made to AMS and few people (in AMS thread) had problems finding their recordings in WebIf after they flashed latest firmware. Maybe your problem goes similar direction, but I´m not sure about this.

Hopefully you´re using latest version of AMS? (I attach oe2.0 version)
Maybe reinstall helps? Maybe it´s only a question of settings in AMS menu or maybe database is corrupt. (I´m only guessing.)

In case I (hopefully) get proposals on IHAD, I´ll let you know.;)
