I like Joe Cocker´s "little help from my friends" version more than the Beatles´original.
It´s the same with the following song (cover version sounds better to me than the original, although I like the original very much, too):

Today I dare to post a german song - don´t kill me for that.
The song is a kind of monument for a german city called BOCHUM, where the singer comes from. If you don´t understand he lyrics it´s a bit sad, but not fatal - many germans don´t understand the lyrics as well - because the composer/singer tends to sing (although in german) in his own rarely understandable way.
But to those, who understand him, the lyrics are as good as the music or sometimnes even better.

Im watching a lot of TV now during the day mainly Al Jazeera and BBC
and Dutch programs, Germany doesnt seem to be interested what is going on in the world and their reporting is not as good as
f.i. the Dutch ones, they not only have news accounts during the day but also at night with discussions about it,
Germany doesnt do that, thats one of the reason I never watch German TV. Well, I hope it all comes out well for the people :thum:

Now you know, unieno, what impression german youth today gets about CCR singing about gnus. They must be thinking, all the grown ups were crazy, when they were young(er).

Hope you´ll soon get your fast pc back and of course, you´re right - there could be more news about egypt on german tv. There are only reports in the regular news (nearly every hour or two hours on ARD or ZDF and there are additional news on news channels - but one really has to search for them - I just zapped between about 50 channels in order to find s.th. about egypt without a positve result - must be a torture for people, who have family/ friends over there.
Hope the country will come back to peace again, soon and people will get the chance to live in democracy.

When I read your post, yesterday, I didn´t understand the correct meaning of your first sentence "Sorry for the lost: Gary Moore". I thought he might have been dead for some time, already - with me not knowing about that.
Didn´t know then, that Gary Moore was found dead, that day, yesterday:mecry:.
Later I watched the news on tv and only then understood, what you meant and why you had posted his videos.
In remembrance of the just deceased Gary Moore, of course I would have abstained from posting the Deep Purple video and wouldn´t have joked around, like I did, yesterday.
(I usually post shortly after having stood up from bed, without having heard/seen/read any news of the day - so sometimes, like in this case, you maybe informed about s.th. I don´t know,yet. Thus I hope to explain my ignorance.)
Anyway,
I´m not the one to mourn for long for people (actors, musicians, etc..) I never met, didn´t know personally or never even talked to.
I´m still sorry for the loss of Michael Jackson sometimes - perhaps because there were so many documentaries about him on tv and perhaps, because his life and the way he had to die were to some degree a tragedy.
But I won´t be weeping for long, if somebody from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Genesis, Pink Floyd, etc., etc. passes away in a natural way.
I never met or saw them (except the Rolling Sones on stage in Munich - me sitting so far away, that I had to look at a giant screen in order to recognize them ... but I knew, the little spot in the nearly neon apricot blazer hopping around, was Mick Jagger)
The older we get, the sooner/easier we should be able to overcome grief in such cases. The world is still filled so much with living celebrities that we grew up with ... Otherwise year after year we would have to live mourning more and more, because the people of our age die away - not by accidents, like some friends in our youth, - but because they reached the age, when it´s getting more and more normal, that we people have to leave our beautiful planet.
So, if G.M. was not killed, but died of a heart attack, ... it was sad, but it was just his time (Last week two other german celebrities were buried ... both died very surprisingly - heart attack.)

Will be busy today, anyway. My car broke down (battery is dead and can´t be reloaded) and has to be towed away. Will have to call the garage now, because yesterday they couldn´t send a service car.
