VU Duo, are you happy with it?

Hello, i´ve read many post on differents forums...I understood that this box is not the best for who´s will have a good picture & more but the best for many people because it use the same img & plugins/emus than dreambox
But now E2 is stable on many receivers so wait & see what´s happend on market
But now E2 is stable on many receivers so wait & see what´s happend on marketI ve had an Ipbox 9000 and moved to VU+ duo... 10 times better box the VU+ ... so smooth running - no hassle -
Ipbox is supposed to have one of the best picture quality -
not noticeable the difference if any with the VU.
Go buy the VU - value for money! ... and it can only get better this box, many development teams involved and new teams joins the game every few weeks.
It has similar processor like DM and all goodies works smoothly unlike with the SH4 processors...
Also, nice tidy hardware inside the box running cool unlike other boxes....
I think i have said enough to make you take the decision...

Well I have managed to get a VU+Duo for myself and I absolutely love it. Just to let you know Ferret that I am running Pli image and surprisingly the fan stops when the box is in standby. :thum:

Yes mate this is a old thread and things move on most images now have fan control. I do feel mine get warm with the fan off in standby though and for the sake of component life i leave mine running.

On top of what gorski has mentioned.
With the VU your also get 3 external USB 2 card readers a 405mhz cpu as apposed to 300 with the 800. More ram 2 CI slots should you need them plus you can install a full sized HDD.
The DM800 is League 1 mate the VU Duo is Premier league.
Best image thats a hard one if your a newbie VTI if not and you can tweak things and install things manually then Blackhole.

Premier League? Hmmmm... Not really, for the reasons given above!
Premier League has 2 players, I think: the latest Reelbox [about €1200] amd DMM 8000 HD.
Then the rest below in lesser leagues...
But if some newer recs get the E2 sorted for themselves - that could change things...

I have the DM8000
Nothing that makes it stand out above the VU in my humble opinion one is not better then the other although one may be better in one area where the other is better in another.
At the end of the day the comparison was made against a DM800 and truley the VU Duo is way ahead of a 800.
