I believe it’s simulcrypt remember the services still has to work on existing equipment so it should be a while yet.

Existing equipment is being phased out according to their web page in above link .

Yes the existing Cisco box will still be in use as it can pick up as they put it the HD signal.

YES All Channels , on DEC 12th we will have Lost the entire AFN Package forever i'm afraid :mecry:
it was good while it lasted

From my understanding after read this

AFN Is Gearing Up For HD "TRANSITION"

http://myafn.dodmedia.osd.mil/afnhd/

They will still use PowerVu, they might be using PowerVu that is being used by MTN Worldwide, SPN India or Viva Philippines, because they say it's working with Cisco D9865, or they will use another CA alongside with PowerVu, but I don't think they will change their CA on that date

Correct me if I'm wrong

simlucrypt mean that has more than one CA present.
In this case, powervu is the only encryption present,so,is not simlucrypt.
What you mean is they might still broadcast both HD and SD channels at the same time, which many services do.
You mean simulcast,I guess.

If you are in North America or South America and use a Freesat receiver, update your software to the newest version and your old keys will work on sat 55.5w-TP-4015.
