in CCcam.cfg you need

boxkey:/dev/sci0 12 34 56 78 this format

in oscam

boxid = 12345678 this format
So boxid is the boxkey in oscam ?

:confused:

i have also added those lines to oscam.server in your above postings .
many thnxs for your helpfull reply .

from what i can understand you do not have a card of any sort , hence you do not really need all these settings .

the box you use i am not familiar with . i would suggest if your box supports cccam just use that & start looking for free C lines .

Sky updates

Hi Guli, Your post on the 29th June gave details on how to update the s*y card. I am using oscam on its own and not using CCcam. I am sorry to ask what may be a dumb question but in your settings for au user [account] you put au = myreadername. Is this the name I have put under "label = ****" in the config server. If I am not correct could you tell me what goes in the space "myreadername"

if this is what you are naming it in oscam.server , then this is what it needs to be in oscam.user

Oscam.server

[reader]
label = skyuk

oscam.conf

[dvbapi]
enabled =1
boxtype = dreambox
user = localuser
au = 1

oscam.user

[account]
user = localuser
group = 1
au = skyuk

i hope this explains what you are asking for .

i have put this line in oscam.serv as i was getting some very big freezes and my peers were alo reporting large freezes aswell so i increased clock speed and seems to help hope i dont burn card tho' ;p

mhz = 400
cardmhz = 650

I have card (963) in internal card slot dm600s pvr reader = /dev/sci0
also is there any script oor config i can use to make oscam restart after power cut which happens quite often to me i selected oscam in blue panel and restarted enigma and Oscam does start after reboot but i still have to open DCC and Telnet and type command line /var/bin/oscam
before i get card to run again so was hoping to avoid rushing home after power cut to maybbe avoid having to open Telnet and type /var/bin/oscam
thanks for your help and hard work guli hopefully you can help me a little more as i am only a n00b with oscam but i can indeed see its much better and safer than cccam .
so any help and advise is greatly appreciated

hi barney mate ,

i am not sure if your dm600 would allow the clock speed at

mhz = 600
cardmhz = 600

if it does then try it . as this *** card with oscam runs at 500mhz as default
, so you will be slightly overclocking at 600 mhz .

i use this in my vu+duo & have no problems at all & the ecm is very good mate .

as for restart scripts i have tried a few & people say it works but i have not come across 1 that does really .

why do you get these power cuts quite often mate .

Thanxs for your reply guli ,
i have a Trip switch fitted for safety but if something dodgy like a badly wired plug or similar gets plugged in to a socket somewhere in the house normally everything gets tripped out via the trip switch like yesterday the hoover was plugged in and it caused a power failure even tho' everything was ok with the plug or most times its unknown reasons outta the blue and its damn annoying as i know i gotta reset Oscam via Telnet .
sometimes i see message in Telnet
Bind request failed retry in 100s/99s/98s etc..

what does that mean ?? :confused:

at least tonite oscam runs without any problem with very nice ecm times and i did got 9 emm's today from my mgcamd dmbox so entitlements will update still while using oscam .:thum:

Bind request failed retry in 100s/99s/98s etc..

i really have not come across this , but i would assume that when you try to start oscam manually not via telnet it is trying to start & then counts down till next time it will try again .

my card updated yesterday with N line mate .

luckily just as it was updating i logged into webif & took a look @ the entitlements & i could see it updating to the new dates .

mine updated a month before the end .

what this means is oscam failed to read the card hence it will retry .

oscam in standalone mode to update cards

Hi guli mate,

Remember me? you asked me to report back to let you know if oscam worked in standalone mode to update cards? Well, I'm afraid it didnt work. One card went, so had to put in to original box to update. I would now like to get it working with Cccam to get it to auto update

So, what do I have to insert in the following files to get Oscam working with Cccam 2.1.3 Or 2.2.1? and what do I then insert in my cccam.cfg file.
BTW, I have a v+ duo with latest Vix 2.2

hi jgc115 ,

i was thinking of you recently mate . tell me 1 thing you say 1 card did not update which 1.

group1 or group2 .

group 2 - But that is because I think both cards were updated in original boxes at different times and group2 one was the longest.

i have made the necessary changes mate , so you can update from CCcam .

Use the N line in CCcam.cfg if you want to use the Newcs protocol to connect to CCcam. Only use 256 if using CCCam 2.1.3 or below . to show your card as a local .

the username & pass in account & N line must be the same .

the port number in newcamd must be the same as in your N line .

256 @ the end of the N line is to show your card as local .

with these settings your card will update providing you give a close & known peer a C line like this :

C: myserver.dyndns.tv 13001 user pass yes ( VERY IMPORTANT )

the yes @ the end is required for the known peer to send EMM to update the card .

in the F line for this peer it should look like this

F: user pass 1 0 1 { 0:0:2 } ( VERY IMPORTANT )

the 2nd 1 allows the EMM to update your card .

you can see your entitlements by opening the web browser & entering the box ip with the webif port .

oscam with cccam will only show your card as local ( hop0 ) with 2.1.3 or earlier versions . cccam 2.1.3 is the better option .

make sure the config directory has 755 attribute & the 3 oscam files in that directory have attribute 644

oscam.conf
oscam.server
oscam.user

oscam will only read your card & forward it via the N line to CCcam . you then give C lines to your peers as usual .

upon putting all your settings together make sure you stop oscam then cccam via the blue panel .

restart oscam then cccam . this allows oscam to read the card before cccam .

any changes to configs in oscam will take effect upon restart of oscam

Tried the new configs but still picktv not clearing - so re-flashed my box and used new configs again. Now all is clearing including picktv. So it looks like my image got corrupted!

guli mate, thanks again for all your help! :D
