Not 100% sure but i doubt it. If you go on the DMM site you used to be able to check your 800 with the mac address and serial number. Take a look that might still be available.

Well I amazed! It says it is a genuine Dreambox. Just incase anyone is interested, the plugin just gives you a number you put in on their website.When you type it in, it gives you the serial number , MAC and date of manufacture that are supposed to match the ones on the box. All 3 matched, so unless the cloners have cloned everything, mines genuine.

I tried several images last night Oozoon, Peterpan and Newnigma2, but thought non were a patch on my dream elite image, so ended up going back and doing a fresh install of the latest version of that ( dated June) At least their server is back up for the plugins, and their website hints they are coming back ( says in cooperation with the full support of Dream multimedia)So maybe their will be a new image soon.

Could somebody translate the previous post? I have experienced, that the latest images from ramiMAHER with seconstage 76C boot up for the first time and work well unless you reboot the box. After reboot it is hanging during boot (does not really hang as telnet works). Is there a solution for this? I have installed the image in the flash. I have tried different images from ramiMAHER with the same result, the latest working version for me was Newnigma2 V3.1.1 posted on 15.11.2010. (by the way what is Impersonator?)

I need help. I installed a few of the latest image files such as Peter Pan Wonderland 3.1, Power of Dreams, Pli-Open. I press the blue button wanted to install mgcamd 1.35a but can't find /newnigma2 services/Emu menu/add-delete option. How to go about to install mgcamd 1.35a as I can't find AddOns option too. Where to get the matching mgcamd 1.35a ?

Newnigma services may not show if the image is in multiboot.

If newnigma is in the flash then it should show unless the addons server is dowm, not sure about that im not in front of mine to check.

Anyway to include Newnigma services for a multiboot image file? Does multiboot means it can handler different type of services e.g. ccamd, mgcamd....

Do you mean I can see the Add/delete EMU menu or AddOns option only when the network is connected? It is not built inside the image file as an pull down menu itself?

No mate multi boot is using other images off a usb or hard drive. If you dont do multi boot then either the newnigma server is offline or there is a fault with the image.

To get to the addons server hold the blue button till you get a popup.

Select Newnigma services you should see add and remove there.

excuse my ignorance, but this question has been haunting me for quite some time....WHY would one need a multiboot??? Is one image not enough? I use nabilo and it suits me right, what benefit does one get, one time booting on nabilo and another on newenigma (for e.g)??

Well mate some images have options or plugins not available in other images or are setup differently to others. One image may suit the needs of one person and not another.

For some it is not just about watching tv it about exploring all possible options multi boot allows you to do this without disturbing the flash image or your main image.

Another huge advantage is extra space

For example, I could not install all the skins that were available for download from the online installer. After installing the absolute necessary plugins i could only install 2 skins, third one gave me a green screen and the box rebooted, error given was "not enough memory"

I'm running Newnigma 3.1.1 in flash and same image with Barry Allen....now i have all the plugins (even the ones i dont really need) and i have now got a massive list of skins that i can choose from without having to worry about space left

And the image runs a little faster off HDD IMO

but why would you want to change skins so often? I appreciate what you guys are explaining, but I have never experimented with multiboot and to be honest, I still don't feel the need to try. So correct me if I'm wrong, for 'normal' satellite viewing , you don't really need another image except for the one in flash..

Does it make any difference changing images to the problem of some weak signal distortions? forexample is it possible that some images have better on signal receiving? coz i am having some problem on changing channels,when i zap the channel all sattellite channels gone...then i have to move another sat and then back or change 10 or more channels to make the dreambox catch the signals.

I have the same problem with gemini 5.1 in flash

All the latest images will be using the same tuner driver so images should all be the same on signal strength.

I suggest checking your usuals setting and alignment.

i did i did... but even sometimes when i am zapping channels the signals gone...forexample i zap a channel then i watch that chanel for about 10 mins then i try to zap again a previously watched channel or a different channed,but no signal :O but it show if i restart the DMbox again...strange isnt it?
