Youtubeplayer for dreamboxes (600pvr and 7020) with openembedded enigma1 images.

The plugin will ask for libcurl.so.3. But the attached libcurl.so.2 will be ok - change the name to libcurl.so.3 and ftp to /usr/lib and chmod 755.

The plugin .so and .cfg to /usr/lib/tuxbox/plugins and chmod 755 for the .so.

The .xml file to /etc/tuxbox/config.

Tested with vlc media player 0.8.6a and XP Pro.

YoutubeplayerE1a - a plugin to watch Youtube videos with dm500, dm5620 and dm7000

With some images the plugin will ask for libcurl.so.2. Please ftp the attached libcurl.so.2 to /var/lib and chmod 755.

Ftp he plugin .so and .cfg to /var/tuxbox/plugins and chmod 755 for the .so.

And the .xml file to /var/tuxbox/config.

Tested with vlc media player 0.8.6a and XP Pro.

I can't make it work.
I have original DM500+ with Gemini4.6 image
i have also VLCF 1.8 and VLC 0.9.8a and both are working together fine and i am able to play movies rfom my PC to the dreambox.

The error msg i have in the youtube plugin is as follows:

A streaming error occurred.
Please make sure that VLC is started on the PC and that it can play the file you selected.

Please help

FAQ:

(1) On pc - start vlc. Preferences - Reset All.

(2) Preferences -> Interface -> Main interfaces -> Select (tick) HTTP remote control interface.

(3) Preferences -> Interface -> Main interfaces (expand) -> HTTP (select Advanced options) -> Host address -> insert :8080

(4) Close and restart vlc.

(5) On dreambox start plugiin.

who wants to edit pc-ip with the remote.

The vlc stream output conf (sout) can now be modified in the .xml file 
(by ftp) to test if the streaming improves. For example the stream video 
size can be changed.

If you have problems with vlc on pc - please uninstall all versions and 
then delete the folder 'vlc' in this location (for Windows XP/2000) 

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\vlc\

and reinstall vlc 0.8.6.

Hello Friends,
Attached is a new version of YoutubeplayerE1 - a plugin for watching YouTube 
videos. The update includes the new mpeg4 format and it should now work ok 
(hopefully !) with all Enigma1 boxes.

Only for VLC media player versions 0.8.6.

Hi Friends,

New version of Enigma1 plugin YoutubeplayerE1 attached.

Tested ok with vlc 1.0.5. May be ok with older versions.

Install plugin :-

Configure vlc 8.6 :-

Settings - Preferences - Interface - Main interface - select HTTP.

Close and restart vlc.

Configure vlc 1.0.5 :-

Tools - Preferences - All (at the bottom) - then same steps as for vlc 8.6.
Preferences - Stream output - select (tick) all boxes except 'display while streaming'.

Open program folder VideoLAN (default install C:\Program Files\VideoLAN). In VideoLAN\VLC\http and \VideoLAN\VLC\http\old find two files .hosts. In these files find lines like :

#192.168.0.0/16

Delete # and insert the pc-ip (vlc server-ip). Important to do this in the two files.

Important when uninstalling another vlc version - also select option to delete preferences and cache.
