what is: old framebuffer (OpenPLi beta Images)

Hello my friends

Recendly i decide to flash my dm500s with a new openPli image but i'm comfiouzed with "old framebuffer"
What exactly is ?

I have found 2 images
1) OpenPLi beta dm500
2) OpenPLi beta dm500 old-framebuffer

Witch of them I should use?

A framebuffer is a linux graphics driver. I would assume that old-framebuffer is for the PLi image using the older framebuffer
driver.

If you have multiboot on your DM500 with a USB stick I would try both images. I cant say which will work best as I have a DM7020.

If you dont have external boot and only use internal flash memory then first make sure that the image was specificly wrote for the DM500 as hardware is different from the DM7020.

Try one image at a time and see which works best, I'd try OpenPli beta first.

Which image is a matter of taste, I've tried, Gemini, Nabilosat, Edg-Nemesis, and like them all, although I stick to Gemini 4.6 and Nabilosat Darstar II the most.

I ask help for "old framebuffer" .
I want to flash my box and i have already decided to use open pli beta.
But there are 2 version
1 with "old framebuffer"
and 1 without "old framebuffer"

whitch one should i use?

i think "jimpapa" already suggested you first try the one WITHOUT old framebuffer...meaning you should try "OpenPLi beta dm500 " FIRST!!!

Try the one without framebuffer first (e.g. the beta version of Pli). If something does not work or you dont like it try the other Pli image.
