I have the 1TB with no problem m8 and i dont see why a disk could cause a problem inside the box.

I have a Samsung Green something or other lol its 1 TB and works well. Avoid the 7200rpm driver there not needed and can be noisy when spinning up.

I have heard of a few problem with the 2tb drive not initializing in the VU again this is hit and miss some get it to work others don't. Apparently formatting the 2tb drive to ext3 in a Linux PC before installing it in the VU works.

i have uploaded this to megaupload, works well great for formatting external hard drives even if they have been used in a pc before, just drag the crack into the directory C/programme files/swissknife
