VOOM joins HOT HD package
Israeli cablenet HOT has signed the US HD showcase channel VOOM to join its planned high definition package. Both HOT and DTH rival YES have plans to introduce HD services during the course of 2008.
The agreement between VOOM and HOT was signed during the local Rosh Pina Television and Film Festival. It will broadcast in English, though there are plans to later introduce Hebrew subtitles.
VOOM has been an early arrival in HD packages in the Nordic countries and Central Europe, but has only recently signed an agreement to appear on Virgin Media’s broadband trial in the UK.
