Vodafone and Artec settle IPTV patent infringement lawsuit

German IPTV applications developer Artec Technologies has reached an agreement with Vodafone Germany to settle the patent infringement lawsuit filed against fixed-line subsidiary Arcor, which has since been integrated into Vodafone Germany.
As a result of the agreement, all pending litigation has been dismissed. Artec had accused Arcor of deploying time-shifting technology for its IPTV services that appeared to be based on Artec's time-shifting patent, leading Artec to file an injunction request against Arcor in December 2007.
