Videoplaza secures US$ 5mn in funding

Stockholm-headquartered firm Videoplaza, a specialist in ad serving technology for managing and magnetising online video, has completed a new round of funding worth US$ 5mn, led by Nordic venture capital firms Creandum and Northzone.
The capital was raised to support the company's commercial development as it continues to expand in Europe (having already opened offices in London and Paris). Videoplaza hopes to accelerate deployments of its Monetizer ad server platform technology for managing, displaying and tracking advertising in and around publishers' online video content.
“The online video environment needs an advertising platform to bring value to the publisher community," said Sorosh Tavakoli, founder and CEO of Videoplaza. "Videoplaza has built that platform. We perceive an enormous market opportunity in Europe fuelled by the demand to monetise video online. With a deep set of engineering skills, we have the potential to radically change the economic landscape for online video publishers by helping them to unlock the revenue potential in the new TV. This investment provides us with the ability to address the needs of a market where video is becoming ubiquitous.”
