Always the last thing people consider, a PSU can power up and then go weak as it gains temperature and fail.

Its an option to try it may not be the problem here but it should never be overlooked imo.

I think it's power related but not the psu. I've had a 4k with similar issues and I traced the problem to a power regulator chip on the maiboard. Amongst other functions this chip reduces 12v down to 5.2v then elsewhere the 5.2v gets reduced down to 3.3v. The voltage at the usb's was wildly fluctuating and the 4k would try to boot when above 3 3v. BTW I was unable to find a replacement chip so if possible send the 4k back.

I've had the box for a few months, bought from German seller. Did try another PSU but also switched off. The timing switching off can fluctuate. The box itself in the led lights appears on and channel number is listed. But pressing the buttons on the box does nothing. Like it's frozen.

That's the other thing need a proper supply, think I just found something that fitted from an old router. It may not have the correct amps.

Can you recommend a power supply that should be used for the box.

I do have a big bag of wires that she's been nagging me to get rid of. If I don't having something suitable , I'll buy a power supply just to rule it out

The old 3amp Dreambox PSU's work fine if you have one kicking around.

Dont worry if the amps exceed the original psu thats fine it will only take what it need and it help with motor movement

Any luck yet?
No mate. Haven't got a replacement charged. Just ordered one. What's worse is it's completely random. Switched on the TV at 5, took kids to football at 6 and expected the box to have gone off but to my surprise it was still on.

Whereas the other day turning off after 5-10 minutes.
