My V-Box Ii Positioner was driving an 18 inch motor until

this morning it stopped moving the dish, it no longer memorise the position stored.

it still going if i used as stand alone positioner.

is it an easy fix or this is the end?

thanks

V-Box Positioner rarely gives up altogether it is possible to factory reset usually via the remote and Re-do the positions one by one again ....good start is just doing 42E and 39E first to see it moves to those two Sats east-west and vice versa .
it may have triggered a limit so factory reset usually solves that issue and should allow you to get to 42E to begin testing
its a slow process to store positions again , do you use a sat box to store positions or the Vbox itself ?

if so What sat box is it ? very worst case scenario is change of Reed switch on the actuator its possible to buy a reed switch mine is Reed Switch Type 2H (heavy duty)

i doubt your issue is anything very serious it might even just be sticking relays i had that issue myself where you open the Vbox itself ensure you have removed plug and where the 4 core wires connect are the relay switches they may be just stuck when actuator arm hit a limit and are so very easy released with a screwdriver and once connected up again you will be back to normal driving .

There is quite many very basic reasons for your issue but i will say that i myself would be really sadly depressed if i did not get at least more than 6-8 years use from a V-Box Positioner ....only thing i found that will kill them stone dead is a big surge of electricity or a direct Lighting Strike over current .

please provide a little more info and an update once you tried some of the obvious steps mentioned
i am curious to know what the outcome will be as i wouldnt go running to buy a new positioner at least not while the front display works and you at least see an ER2 msg on the display of Vbox which really will mean your Vbox will be perfectly fine : )
good luck !!
