TM600: USB Hub & Smargo compatible?

Hi, I'm interested in the TM600 but I'd like to know if it works with a USB hub and if the smargo reader (or any other reader) works via USB/serial. Also, can you move the /var folder and set up SWAP on a USB stick? Any help/info appreciated.
