Thinking of buying a DM

Hiya,

I am a Technomate 6900 owner since couple years back. The unit has served me well but now it is more or less bricked as most packages are encrypted. So I was thinking of maybe replace it for a Dreambox. Will it open up any packages? Which DM would you suggest if I want HDTV aswell. Must be able to operate a diseq motor too.

depending on your budget, the dreambox is not that special that it can open other packages that other recievers cannot,you can use keys like most recievers, but they are widely used for card sharing or even servers.

like i said it depends on what you are willing to pay, you have the VU+Duo thats around the same price of a DM800 original and 10 times better than it, twin tunner, 2 card slots, 2 CI slots, 3 usb slots, a full size sata hard drive, support is very good for them, highly recommended.

I would agree with Brummie buy the VU Duo if your funds will run to it, if not then a 800 clone will be OK but you'll have some fun with that along the way patched images drivers etc can all get a bit much for newbies using a Linux box for the first time.
