SAD news..TPS to leave HOTBIRD ???

Dear Friends,

While browsing the Internet, I came across this news on Broadbandtvnews.com, which indicated TPS may migrate to ASTRA in Q2-2008. Any further info on this topic.... If this news is to be believed..We are at major loss....



Three more HD channels for CanalSat

Canal Satellite Numérique will offer three more HD channels during 2008. The news was broken during a special online chat session on the TPS website with Thierry Chamouton (director client relations at CanalSat) and Amaury Lelong (director of the TPS/CanalSat migration project). The online session with subscribers was intended to give more information about the migration process of TPS subscribers, who now watch Hot Bird, to CanalSat, which uses Astra.

TPS subscribers will lose a number of channels after shut down of the Hot Bird platform, including the M6 music channels Rock and Pop, Baby TV, the travel channel Odyssée and probably Fun TV. The Meteo Express interactive weather forecasts will also not be available. The reason is the lack of transponder capacity on the 19 degrees East Astra position.

TPS subscribers have also learned that subscriptions outside of France will not be allowed and that smart card only subscribers and SMATV homes will migrate during Q2 2008.

All these channels will also locked in Viaccess 2.5 after 007C00 ID
All these channels are available on Astra 1H and 1G at 19.2°E in CanalSAT France Package in Viaccess 2.5 and Se*ca 2

From Tps site, no translation is required I think. All process will be completed in autumn 2008.

Le signal de TPS sur le satellite actuel s’arrête à l’automne 2008. Des chaînes et
services s’arrêteront parfois avant cet arrêt total.

Si vous êtes abonnés à cette option, sachez que PINK X cesse la diffusion de ses
programmes sur le satellite de TPS le 30 avril. Mais vous retrouverez cette chaîne
dès que vous aurez migré sur CANALSAT ! En attendant, cette option ne vous sera
bien sûr plus facturée sur TPS !


Par ailleurs, le service Multivision va s’arrêter au 31 mai 2008. N’oubliez pas de consommer tous vos jetons avant cette date en profitant de la programmation riche de ces deux prochains mois : Harry Potter et l’ordre du Phoenix, Zodiac, Voisin contre voisin ou encore Dialogue avec mon jardinier.

So friends this is the future of Hotbird 6 and 7 (Not so good)
All these channels are available on Astra 1H and 1G at 19.2°E in CanalSAT France Package
but with encryption system of Via**ess 2.5 and Se*c*a 2 whitch is not publiced yet
instead of Se*c*a2 but at this time no keys available on Se*c*a 2 also.

Refering to Fr. Télé satellite mag
New off cards will be send to subscribers from 11/02/08 and can be used from 04/03/08 to replace the "76"and "80" cards
The 20/03/08 the 76 and 80 cards wont work anymore !
The mediaguard V1+(7.1) hacked since "few months" will be replace by the new version Mediaguard V9 :Merlin (Mixture of Mediaguard and Nagravision performed by swiss Kudelsky co.)
Also confirmed
C+ group activity made 4363 millions in euros (+ 20% compare to 2006)
The benefit comes from higher subscription prices / publicity benefits coming from the TPS buy
C+ group (31/12/07) has now 10.5 millions subscribers (including overseas countries)
C+ and TPS (31/12/07) has now more than 5.2 millions subscribers (+ 200.000 more than 2006 /subscriptions canceld 10%)
