Telenor launches IPTV

Telenor has finally launched its Norwegian IPTV service, available initially to its customers with fibre-based services already installed.
The new service has been in testing since the autumn of 2009. The service offers the complete portfolio of TV channels from Canal Digital and Viasat, with many offered in HD quality, as well as a VOD library, PVR and time-shifting features.
"With the TV package we now have available, we can begin to sell a complete triple-play solution to our fibre customers," said Svein Henning Kirkeng, head of Telenor's private market segment in Norway. "On behalf of our customers, Telenor has set very high quality requirements for the end user's product. The customers who have tested the pilot have given exceptionally good feedback on the product we are now launching on the market."
