Hello,

has anybody managed to get subs working on BBC channels from 27,5W?

A bonus question: (I just purchased TM 5402 M3) where is "safely remove USB" option on it?

Thanks in advance!

There are no subtitles on 28.2! on the TM so this does not surprise me. There are very few sats with subs on. As for 'safely remove usb' this isn't a windows or alike operating system. I hope this doesn't sound sarcastic but if you are worried then power it down then remove usb drive. Never had any probs here in the past whilst removing it whilst powered up anyway.

My correction! I have no idea why I said there are no subs on 28.2 cause there are most of the time. I'm no longer sending out early posts ...My apologogies!!!

No worries :) Thanks for the info anyway
I know that on various tuners BBC from 27,5W require various tricks, perhaps adding subtitle PIDs manually in some editor.. Anyone knows pls?

There are subs transmitted. For instance cryptobox can display them, as well as many other receivers. I have noticed already that this tuner is generally not doing too well in terms of subs.. so probably it needs soft changes, will try to play with some editors later on, maybe will get lucky. In case someone knows a way to set subs on BBC 27,5W, please let me know.

There are subtitles on VU+ (and perhaps other) boxes, when you add full extra parameters and in dreamboxedit.

You may be able to use clarke tech editor, select req channel.
Add txt pid and select and tick subtitle box and press ok to save.

If other boxes as others have posted on this thread can use them ie cryptobox and vu then they surely they must be being transmitted
What we need is the correct TXT to add to channel list, and activate the sub box in list using editor.

@william-1 - this is I think not true.On Solo2 you can display subtitles without any problem, but has to have a special shell script to do it. For us in south Europe who can not receive UK Beam on 28,2 E that feature is sometimes very useful...I can make a screenshot in the evening.

Edit : I see that manic01 already confirmed that,

Maybe the Phantom can add this feature in the next patch.

Why are you talking about 28.2E if the author of the thread is asking about 27.5W?

There are DVB subtitles available. But you have to know the corresponding PIDs. Because the PMT is scrambled as well, you can't determine the PIDs. If the PMT is descrambled you will see the PIDs of all elementary streams e.g. BBC ONE:

Not sure if any script can solve the issue on non-enigma SW.
However it would be good to address it to the SW developer if anyone has contact with him (I am new to this forum and TM:)).

Tried to play with it a bit and the only achievement was adding non existing teletext. Thats actually what happens when you add text PID and tick the subtitle box. This concerns me a little bit as well as general performance of the tuner in terms of subtitles. I think that when you add manually subtitles PID the receiver should still see subtitles in subtitle menu, they wouldnt work, but should be shown. I was quite struck with the fact that when you play some video from USB and there are .srt subs, TM loads them automatically but when you press "subtitles" button to turn them off, it still says "No subtitles". It looks like there is some issue with subtitles control, or maybe I need to change some settings, but I havent seen any subtitle settings though..

So there is definitely something wrong with subs support of this tuner. I managed to add subtitles PIDs. Apparently it is video PID + 4, so for example for BBC 1 HD it is 6605. When you add them like this, subtitle icon appears on the channel bar on the left side, but when I press subtitle button, still "no subtitles" (attached pics 1 and 2) :mecry:

Like I mentioned previously, even when playing files from USB and when subtitles load automatically, when I press subtitles button, I get "no subtitles". I tried with latest official SW and Phantom SW, still the same (attached pic 3).

This is the SW I have loaded http://downloadtmsw.com/bbs/reply.php?board=tm5402hd&num=68

Maybe it is a wrong one coz its for 5402 HD and I have 5402 HD M3 CI Super, or that should be the same?
