Hi everyone,
I have just bought an eSATA HDD for use with my DM800 running Blackhole 0.11G2.

It will timeshift ok but when I press the red button it says "No HDD found or HDD not initialised".

When I use the Devices Manager it says that the HDD is mounted in media/hdd and the device is /dev/discs/disc0/part1.

Am I missing something to enable the recording feature:confused:

Hi mate

My first suggestion is do you have a movie folder on the external hard drive. If not make one and reboot then try record again.

The movies folder must be named in lower case.

How would I put that on the HDD?

You should be able to FTP in to it.

/media/hdd

Excellent. I FTP`d the mew file into media/hdd and it now seems to work.:thum:

How do I access the programmes after I have recorded them?

Please it worked for you mate.

All you now need to do to view recordings is press the video button on the remote. You should then see all your recordings.

Is there a quick way to clear the video recordings or do I have to clear the folder with FTP?

Press the video button and then select what you would like to delete.

Now press the menu button and select delete :thum:

Yes I have a movies folder, and it is an internal SATA drive on my PC (mounted via CIFS on the DM).

Ahhh then try lowering your firewalls temporally, check you have the correct user and pass for the PC in the settings.

Other things to watch are the number of things you have using your network say your downloading/uploading torrent or connected to xbox live etc things like this can slow the network enough for the recording to fail.

I have no firewalls running, and I have the username and password correct because the recorded file is on my PC. Why would the box crash randomly? :(

It is because of this crashing, and also when on standby that I am looking to change the Image - you commented in my other thread :)

It does seem strange mate and maybe trying another image would give you some answers.
