I really appreciate this, but the last update was in November.

I could compare it with Geant, which updates almost every month.
But regardless of the comparisons, even without comparison, not updating a device for over 5 months seems rather strange to me.
However, we are talking about a device that has numerous bugs and is not super perfect on the software side.

No one else makes a android/E2 box that has access to the forever server. The last update was a massive update and for most people it works very well. There are not many complaints about the software but @pier_bari has been looking for these updates since it came out.

Other brands have different issues.
Its just a server update on Starsat that gives nothing more than what the Dual is giving.

I got Geant for the Android part only.
I find the software very slow and full of bugs.
In my opinion almost unusable.

Of course, because if there are serious bugs, they should be resolved in the short term.

What bugs are there that are major issues? I tend to use mine mainly on the e2 side.

The EPG is practically useless as it constantly misses events, even when using the Pro version.
When selecting a channel, the previous channel is always displayed (known bug).
The system is very slow and cumbersome.
The skin is also very sparse and devoid of information, such as birtrate and others.
Furthermore, the view of the quality of the detected signal is not exact, it detects 40% while the signal is 99%

But to counter that i can run the machine on the Enigma 2 side and have 4 x decent images with icam channels clearing and with a decent epg and it runs very fast. It is also good for feeds but then on the same box i can boot into the android side and watch channels that are unavailable to me on the E2 side. Once booted and running it seems to work at a decent speed for me and all channels clear pretty quickly. The odd glitch is neither here nor there to me and I can await qviart releasing their new software when it comes.

A work around for that, is to go into the system settings and turn on Auto Channel Selection, this turns off the Auto Channel Exit option, but means when you highlight a channel in the list it auto zaps to the channel and updates the infobar with correct channel name, so it is then always correct.

I agree 1000% with you. I have exactly the same problems, and I beg for an update every single day...
1. When selecting a channel, the previous channel is always displayed when I change from one satellite channel list to another (seeing the channel list, through red button "Group", and then "Satellites".
2. I still face boot loop problems from time to time. After turn it off in the night, sometimes in the next day it won't boot, forcing me to insert the usb drive and update the last firmware again...
3. Since my tv is 4k, the Dual changes its own resolution every time I turn it on, although I set it to be on 1920x1080. (And yes, I would love to be able to set a fixed resolution on the TV, but I am not allowed by Xiaomi...)
4. And I still note that it is slowly to render/tune a channel in comparison with my old DRS2, and I can bet that it's a software-related problem. I select some channels, and have to wait some more seconds to the infobar changes the name of the channel (like recognise the channel I selected) and then tuner it.
5. I would say that the EPG is useless, but I won't... at least it let me know the name of the current program and the next one... sometimes.
But well, thank you so much for the PIP function, it works perfectly, and by the beautiful menus/UI/graphic interface I ever used (one of reasons that made me to update, seeing traumatised by the old "Graphite" UI)

I totally with you, apparently they have forgotten some of this firmware or don't want to correct all these problems.
I hope they will wake up, because if they continue to the production of this decoder, they must also guarantee the part of the firmware update.
I really hope that in the next week they will release the new firmware, not to be far behind the other brands

I was looking for enigma2 box that does server forever as well and found out that this receiver is one of them, I'm not sure if only one or viark does both too
I tried reading and looking for videos, how is forever integrated into enigma2, do they have their own image, is it thru plugin, as far as I know to watch encrypted channels you need softcam oscam.... Or forever is only added to the android boot, once you are in enigma2 image you don't have forever anymore
