Problem Turning The Vu+ On . Help Please

Hi every one
When I try to turn on the vu+ on it wont come on,I have changed the batteries on the remote with no success.
If I keep pressing the menu button or the ok button eventually it will turn on, the next problem is when you have had it on any channel for a considerable time it will not move from that channel without going through what I did to turn it on.

If I turn the machine off at the back off the machine and take the plug out for a while, then I turn every thing back on it will be perfect for a while. Another thing is when it doesn’t come on; it hasn’t updated the EPG through the night.
The image on the box is ViX 1.3

Are you in deep standby ?

What state of standby do you put the box into on a evening?

Next time you box wont turn on try pressing and holding the standy button on the remote down for a few seconds.

I just turn the box off with the on and off button, with the date and time still showing on the front of the box. Is that what you mean m8, when you said is it in deep standby .I never turn the box off at the plug.

You just going into normal standby mate and as you have fresh batteries in the remote im not sure why you have difficulty getting it out of standby.

While i don't think the image directly controls standby operation im wondering if some program running in the background under standby could cause this. Try re flashing mate if that does not work it could be hardware be it the remote or VU.

Thank you very much for your reply again m8.Could you please guide me on how to re-flash the image, the problem has only started about 3 days a go with no other problems like this before.
