please help dm8000 setup

hi all i have bought my hubby a dm8000 for his birthday im trying to set it up so its all done for him but getting no where fast have read the instructions and they go over my head
we have a dm800 which i can use so not a TOTAL novice but thiss box is doing my head in here is my problem so far

i have the lnb cable in tuner a when i look to scan for more satellites it only finds 28e and thats all thats there what am i doing wrong any help much appriciated before i return the thing and he ends up with socks lol

on the DM800 check the tuner settings and use the same on the 8000.
menu/setup/service searching/tuner config if your using usals make a note of the co-ordinates and enter them in to the 8000

hi my dm800 says alps but the 8000 doesnt have that in option in tuner A it says bcm4501 (internal)

yes take no notice of the tuner names you need the setup info from the 800,then use the same info on the 8000

Positioned
I put longitude and latitude in and still only 28e lol
Is that the settings you mean sorry for all questions x

I'm just baffled why only 28e shows there's no satellites in default list I can't understand it

yes thats correct now you need to either get the channel settings from the 800 using dreambox edit and save them to your pc,then send them across to the 8000,or download a new set and then edit them then send them across

what satellites do you have on your 800, list them and i will edit a set for you to download and tell you how to send them across,your going to need to download dreambox edit from the dreambox tools section

i take it you want 28.2 aswell because youll loose the one you have when you send the settings across

here you go, i have left you 3.1 east and 10 east in them you can get some good feeds on these sats

extract both folders to your desktop

brilliant thank you ever so much how do I send them ?

open dreambox edit and click on the 4th icon at the top and change the ip to your 8000 ip and save 2nd icon

then click open 1st icon and locate the settings from your desktop and press ok,you will see the screen fill up

now click on the 3rd icon and then click on send files to dreambox, you will see the files going across. after its finished click on reload settings on dreambox

omg thank you so much cant believe its done been trying since 10am hahaha now im still having a slight problem nothing comes on still apart from 28e all satellite's are in but when I turn dish comes up as service unavailable check tuner configurations now surly If 28e opens other sats should too If i go to manual scan it shows 28e I go to push along on remote to select another satellite but still only 28e cant move along ?any other ideas please

check that tuner A is set up as simple positioner and your lat and long are correct aswell as east & west
