Hi,
First I just want to say thanks to Ferret and all of you other persons, for all the helpfull information in this forum! :) Yesterday I was stuck with a "erro1 ..ca .. " problem, but all the info was here to solve it!

The reason to why I changed image was that I have a problem with that the screen goes black but the sound keeps going. The box is alive. If I press the button on the box I have the possibility to close down the GUI and then just restart the GUI, and the picture is there again. I had this problem on the Gemini (don't know the version) image that was installed when I bought the box, but it remains a problem after updating with "OpenPLi unstable dm800 sim201 #76 14.05.2010" found on this page.

Does someone recognize this problem? It seems lika a software bug to me, but maybe it could be somekind of heat problem, but is it likely that just the GUI shuts down?

Not come across this mate and as you have tried another image im not sure it is a software bug. You could try using a older OE 1.5 image just to prove the theory.

Does this happen on specific channels or any channel? How often does this happen?

Thanks for your quick answer! :)

I have not seen any "pattern" in the behavior. Seems like it can happen any time.

So a, question about changing images then (after last nights trouble). ;) Now that I have boot loader 76 (SIM 2.01 (by the way, is this a HW ID?)), is it safe to load any image (not gemini)? For example I would like to try the latest LT image, when I have solved this problem I have now. Is OE 1.5 safe, or do I need a "fixed" one?

Hi mate you can go back down to any sim 2 image and your bootloader will return to the one that image uses this is because the boot loader is flashed with the image.

Yeah you would need to flash it with a patched oe1.5 image for sim2

The only other thing that springs to mind is this could be heat related. Long shot but worth thinking about.
