Try passwd and press enter (for change your password).

Log into your VU with root and existing password.


Type the letters passwd and press enter.
You will be asked to enter the new password twice.
You will not see any entered letters on screen but they are entered. After you press the enter button the second time, you will get the message that the password has been changed.


Make sure you remember the password or you will have to reflash an image.

I prefer Putty for that, it can handle telnet, ssh and serial, search for putty on google, you will find it.

Then, put the ip-address of your box in the hostname/ipaddress, select either telnet or ssh, I dont know what your box is using.

Then save it with a convenient name and select "Open".
