On Demand Group signs VOD deal with French telco

March 18, 2010

On Demand Group has signed a multi-year video-on-demand content management deal with a "major" French telco.

On Demand Group has also created a TV transactional video-on-demand service offering designed for French-speaking markets.

While details of this first roll-out and major new content distribution deals are expected to be disclosed later this year, the company's London content factory is reported to already be processing and delivering movies and promotions for French subscribers. Overall, the service is expected to reach more than 2mn homes with blockbusters and classic library titles, all on-demand with time-shifting capabilities.

“Over the last two years On Demand Group have stepped into close partnership with more and more of the European nations’ largest IPTV and cable service providers,” said Tony Kelly, CEO, On Demand Group. “Many of these providers realise they don’t have to strive alone to make a revenue line with on-demand services. They recognise the security and opportunity in On Demand Group’s winning formula of specialised service management, technical and operating capabilities to bring the world’s most valuable video content to any consumer device, and to maximise buy rates and customer satisfaction.”

On Demand Group currently acquires, produces, prepares and delivers annually 250,000 movies, TV programmes and promotions to 12 video service provider platforms, covering 10mn on-demand enabled homes and 100mn mobile subscribers in six languages including Arabic, English, French, German, Greek and Turkish.
