Not 100% sure if the 8000 has the same issue with dts audio as the 800 tbh but take a look at this

PLi seem to support dts audio on the 8000 so maybe your problem is image related.

Don´t kow if it works with MKV, but DTS-Audio plugin is supplied with OoZooN image (e.g. release 3.1)

i have the dm800, mkv files play great except the ones with dts encoding. 5.1 works ok.
