need help streaming pc to DM500

Is it possible to stream movies from pc to tv through my dm500???

With VLC plugin installed on your 500 and VLC installed on your PC anything is possible although with the 500 the ethernet port is slow .

You could setup a ciffs mount to your PC and mod your 500 to use the video button to view the files in your Ciffs mount. The problem here is the 500 will only play Mpeg2 files this way.

You can setup VLC front end but this is hit and mis on a 500.

The 500 will never be a media player mate.

Thanks for the link will try it out.i have Nabilosat Darkstar II image installed will it work with any image.

If you can find a vlc front end from the Nabilo server then its worth a try.

could not get it to work so i changed the image to pli jade 3 and tried movieplayeron my dm500 and vlc for my pc,i have managed to get to the stage that i can select the dvd to play the movie but the image says buffering video but the movie does not display on the screen i have let it buffer the video for up to 5 mins but still no picture.

hi. I have the same problem. has anyone found a solution?
I have pli jade 3 with dm 500. Movie player connects to pc but doesnt play the avi file. I a m using vlc 1.1.3 Also the avi is not corrupted since it plays on the pc.

The only format the 500 will play is mpeg2 as far as im aware. When you setup vlc on the PC you can set it up to convert a xvid etc on the fly to mpeg2. That i think is the only way.
