Does anyone have problem with memory, flashing onscreen and box freezing?

did you flash the receiver with a nullmodem cable and dreamup, if you never the maxvar side of the image wont work, they have only been tested that way.

plus you only need 2 emus at the max, remember that the memory is not that big on the 500's

i'm new in dreambox, i have some queries:
what is the meaning of image? when i turn on my box (500s) itt shows "the GP" is the image?

yes if it shows GP on boot up, this meens that the unit as already been flashed with a gemini image.

i dont think its got anything to do with the internet if its freezing or a black screen unless you are using a CS.

Make sure you have a good strong signal for every satellite that you have stored, if the picture breaks up try nudging the dish a little east or west to see if that solves the problem.

Finally you only need 2 emu's max the most popular are CCcam & MgCamd,and remember the 500's do have that much memory so only download or add the essentials and all should be fine.

Yeah maybe because of CS (is it Card Sharing?) if so, maybe that is the problem with freezing.

my CCcam ver.2.0.4, what do you mean by download or adding essentials, do you mean the channels?

there is a few different settings about like pet settings etc! if you have not scanned in your own settings, edit the pet settings or what ever settings you use and delete the sattelites that you do not use.

Same for keys, if you download the full dreambox keys set you are not going to use most of the files in there, beaucse there are files for all the emus.

In my var/keys i only have a autoroll.key ignore.list priority.list mg.cfg and a softcam.key these are fine for what i need using CCcam or MgCamd

now im starting getting .00001% knowledge on dreambox, can we continue?

i have just download new xlm and tar.gz files, if i use these, what will happen to my channels? is there a possibility to delete or replace whatever i have right now?

about these keys:
The key files are SoftCam.Key and AutoRoll.Key for Radegast or Autoupdate, Keylist.txt, and thirteen nagra ROM files for Evocamd or keylist, rsakeylist, mappings, and thirteen nagra ROM files for Newcamd or SoftCam.Key and AutoRoll.Key for MGcamd.

i dont think i need these keys anyway, what do you think is the best for me to use.

how can i install the EMU?
how can i activate my EMU?
and how can i install the key? is xxx.tar.gz a key?

it is always best to scan in your own sats that you require, pet settings are for the lazy ones.

you can install an emu from the remote or you can download an emu adapted for your image, then ftp it to tmp, then do a manual install from the remote.

same for keys you can download keys from here in the format for your image ftp them to tmp and again do a manual install from the remote.

to FTP you will need a piece of software called DCC dreambox control centre, this enables you to send files to your receiver and manage files inside the receiver.

you do not need a null modem cable to ftp thats for flashing the receiver, you need the receiver conected to a router either by a cat5 cable or wireless.

You dont need a null modem cable,for coneccting your dreambox with a DCC program.You need Crossover Cable.Null modem cable you need to conecct your box with dreamUP.

sorry i was not able to distinguished the difference between crossover cable and null modem cable. However, i have this cable connected with my box, my problem now is, if i download new or send the files to my box, i'm afraid i may lose my CS connection (is it possible). Second, if i dont have CS, will i be able to watch those encrypted channels that includes adult?

please advise.

You can't do much about, either you don't have strong enough signal on that channel or it is some old channel in the settings that stopped transmitting later.
You can watch some encrypted channels without CS. If you download key files you shouldn't mess up cs settings unless you overwrite configuration file.

probably the old channel in the setting coz there is nothing wrong with the signal it is strong enough to reach the green color, in this case i can update the channels by uploading new key files, which program is it DCC, i have DCC V2.95 but the problem is language it is not in English , i could not understand the menus, anyways, i will try to find english version.

English language is already available in DCC, you just choose it from drop down menu in configuration tab of dcc. Deutch is chosen by default, but there is like 10 more languages to chose from.

It is right program to manually update keys, either by editing just certain key or by ftp-ing new keyfile to your box.

were can i get a radegast file that will work on nabilosat darkstar2? i have darkstar2 install on my box but the problem icant install? it says not nabilosat emu? what will ido? TIA
