My cooling solution for DM800HD

I have now researched the whole market for a tiny heatsink with fan to fit into the DM800HD tight space between the Broadcom chipset and tuner.

The height is about 13mm total.

But i found a heatsink of 35x35x6mm plus a 5V DC fan of 25x25x6.5mm which qualify for the 13mm height.

Now i can use the HDD DC 4-pin connector at the side of the chipset and no USB solution.

Thx for the info mate.
Did you manage to set the fan up that it starts automatically when a certain heat is reached?
What about the "noise" of the fan, it seems to be rather quiet as its description says "17 dBA" which is quite low actually?

cheers

The fan runs at 10,000rpm but it's quite low noise.

The fan only runs when the box is running so that is one major problem, but i keep the box on 24/7 instead.

Hi,
1- How did you remove the old fan/heatsink, i mean the method used.
2- Do you use it in a clone, or an original? Because i've read with BL76 originals don't need anymore cooling
Thanks

Original DM800 never had any cooling of any sort to my knowledge, they do get warn though.
