hi, i am relatively new to all this and i am wondering what would the minimum size of a dish (28.2e i think) to receive a signal for football feeds in the uk (scotland), thanks

As far as i can see there has not been many [ if any ] Feeds for football thus far on 28E
as a minimum i suggest 78cm upwards as none will be exceptionally strong signal
For Football feeds look at going motorized better chance to catch a BEin feed on 3E or take a sky sub and just use their rust bucket dish which should last a year if your lucky : )
