VIEIRA TOLD HE NEEDS TO PLAY

Raymond Domenech insists Patrick Vieira needs to be playing regularly before he will be recalled by France.

The 33-year-old Inter Milan midfielder was a notable omission from his squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifier against the Faroe Islands.

Domenech opted to hand a first call-up to Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko, leaving 107-cap Vieira out in the cold.

Vieira has been tipped to rejoin Arsenal this summer, although Domenech does not mind which club he is at as long as he is playing regularly.

"Pat needs to play a lot to feel good and to get back to his best level," explained Domenech.

"He has to keep playing. I hope he will start playing - at Arsenal or Inter Milan."

ZAMPARINI BLAST FOR 'SPOILT' AMELIA

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has revealed he agreed to swap Marco Amelia for Genoa goalkeeper Rubinho because Amelia had behaved like a "spoilt child".

The two clubs are on the verge of completing a deal which will see Rubinho and Amelia trade places.

Rubinho proved himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A last season and Zamparini is delighted to welcome the Brazilian to the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

"It is a deal that as well as satisfying us and Genoa, makes the two goalkeepers happy," he told Corriere dello Sport. "Amelia wanted to leave, he told us so and made us understand that.

"He had the attitude of a spoilt child and so we decided to sell him.

"I have always liked Rubinho, he is an excellent goalkeeper.

"He has played really well in the Genoa shirt, he has proved to be a very good player.

"I hope that he can do the same with Palermo."

Reports suggest Rubinho will sign a four-year deal with the Sicilian club and could train with his new team-mates for the first time on Wednesday.

Amelia's move is expected to be completed at the same time.

BAPTISTA STAYING WITH ROMA - AGENT

Julio Baptista's agent has denied the Roma player is set to join AC Milan.

Milan are still in the hunt for a striker after seemingly failing in their bid to bring Sevilla's Luis Fabiano to the San Siro.

Reports in Italy suggest they have turned their attention to former Real Madrid player Baptista.

However, agent Herminio Menendez insists the Serie A giants have not been in touch about the Brazilian.

"The last time I spoke to someone from Milan was two years ago," he told Calciomercato.it. "As of now there hasn't be any more contact.

"At the moment there's really nothing with Milan, no-one has called me."

Menendez claims the Brazil international, who only signed for Roma last summer, wants to remain at at the capital club.

"I haven't received anything, nothing from anyone," he said. "Julio is a Roma player.

"He will continue with Roma this season, he doesn't want to leave."

ATLETICO WARN SUITORS OFF AGUERO

Atletico Madrid have stated that even an offer of at least 60million euros (£51m) may not be enough to tempt them to sell star forward Sergio Aguero.

The Argentina international is sought-after property and has been linked with Manchester United as Sir Alex Ferguson looks to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Inter Milan and Chelsea are also thought to be tracking Aguero, but Atletico have maintained that they do not want to sell.

The Primera Liga outfit's president, Enrique Cerezo, has now announced that even a huge bid could not be enough to make the club consider parting with the 21-year-old.

"Perhaps even if an offer for this amount of money (£51m) arrives, we would not accept the sale," Cerezo told Spanish media.

BERLUSCONI BLOCKS PIRLO EXIT

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi claims Andrea Pirlo will end his career at the San Siro, putting an end to speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Chelsea.

Pirlo has been a reported target of the Stamford Bridge club ever since the arrival of former Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti.

However, Berlusconi had a meeting with coach Leonardo and vice-president Adriano Galliani and now insists the Italy international is not for sale.

"Andrea Pirlo has been taken off the market," he told reporters. "He will stay with us and finish his career at Milan.

"You know that our Andrea Pirlo was wanted by Chelsea with a suitable economic offer.

"We also talked with the player and we decided to accept Leonardo's request to keep Pirlo."

The 30-year-old is under contract with Milan until June 2012.

Berlusconi also revealed the club are preparing to splash out on a big-name striker after seemingly failing in their bid to sign Sevilla's Luis Fabiano.

Talks have stalled between the two clubs after Milan had a reported 14million euro offer turned down by Sevilla, who were said to be holding out for a sum closer to the forward's 26million euro release clause.

Milan have so far refused to pay that but Berlusconi hinted they could increase their offer.

He added: "I have made the necessary funds available so that Galliani can immediately buy a great goalscorer to put alongside the pack of attackers who are already in the squad.

"You know the name, until this moment we have been working with Galliani on this front."

The Rossoneri have been relatively quiet in the transfer market despite netting around 65million euros from the sale of Kaka to Real Madrid

Pirlo is also delighted to see out his playing days with Milan. "Today is a very good day," he told Milan Channel. "I am very happy to be able to finish my career here.

"This is thanks to the president Silvio Berlusconi, to Adriano Galliani and to Leonardo who, by taking me off the market, have given me the possibility to end my career here.

"When they told me the news I was very happy, finally the saga of this summer is over and we can continue the adventure in rossonero."

Pirlo has been with the Rossoneri since 2001, when he signed from bitter rivals Inter Milan and instantly formed a formidable partnership with Gennaro Gattuso.

And the World Cup winner admits he did consider leaving Milan.

He added: "I had the possibility of changing teams and adventure but at the end in mutual agreement, the club and I, decided to continue and we are all happier.

"It was a turbulent summer with many doubts but at the end, in my family, we are all happier to remain in Milan."

REDS AGREE AQUILANI FEE

Rafael Benitez has wasted no time in plugging the gap in Liverpool's squad created by the £30m departure of Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid.

While Alonso was completing his medical and signing a four-year contract at the Bernabeu, Liverpool were agreeing a fee for Roma's young midfield star Alberto Aquilani.

The 25-year-old is currently heading to Merseyside and he will have a medical tomorrow.

Liverpool sources point out the two deals have been running in tandem for some weeks.

Once the Alonso deal was completed, and the first instalment of the fee banked, Liverpool were able to finalise the deal for Aquilani.

Manager Rafael Benitez said: "Alberto is a very good player and I'm delighted we've reached agreement with Roma for his transfer.

"Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League.

"He has long been recognised as a top-class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under-19 and Under-21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."

Benitez, currently in Norway for tonight's friendly with Lyn Oslo, is working to a limited budget and clearly was not willing to settle on a fee with Roma - believed to be around £20million - without certainty Madrid's cash was on the way.

Benitez has now raised around £41million this summer with the sales of Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa, Paul Anderson, Jack Hobbs and Sebastian Leto,

His only other summer signing has been England full-back Glen Johnson for £17million, but much of that fee was reduced because of the cash Portsmouth still owed Liverpool for the Peter Crouch deal.

Benitez will certainly spend again in the next few weeks and may well now move for Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin.

Having seen Sami Hyypia leave on a free transfer for Bayer Leverkusen and Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel both struck down by hamstring and back injuries respectively in pre-season, Liverpool are certainly short of defensive cover.

But the initial need was for Benitez to calm worries among Liverpool fans following the loss of Alonso that the Reds now lacked midfield quality.

And he has gone for an elegant, technically clever player to plug the gap. Aquilani, who recently celebrated his 25th birthday, is expected to feature heavily for Italy in next year's World Cup finals.

The one concern for Liverpool is Aquilani's fitness, and Thursday's medical will be key to the deal being completed.

The player has been sidelined since surgery on his right ankle in May.

Aquilani last featured for Roma on March 11 when the Serie A club crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of Arsenal and the fact he made only 14 league appearances last season because of fitness problems must be a concern at Anfield.

Despite reports, Danish international midfielder Christian Poulsen is not on Liverpool's hit-list and no contact has been made with his club Juventus.

Aquilani is a home-grown Roma star but the club's financial plight has made it impossible to turn down a £20million fee.

The midfielder is believed to have been happy with personal terms for some while, while Roma have been waiting for Liverpool to complete the Alonso deal.

As a 16-year-old, Aquilani was offered contracts by both Arsenal and Chelsea but wanted to fulfil his boyhood dream of playing for Roma.

He made his first-team debut at 18, when Fabio Capello was manager, but he has been troubled by various injuries since becoming a Roma regular.

He won his first Italy cap in November 2006 after previously racking up a string of Under-21 caps.

He featured during Euro 2008, coming on as substitute against France, and started the quarter-final clash against Spain due to the suspensions of Andrea Pirlo and Gennaro Gattuso, a game Italy lost on a penalty shoot-out.

Benitez, meanwhile, revealed today he still harboured hopes of keeping Alonso out of the clutches of Real even though the player told him two months ago he wanted to leave.

"We would have liked to have kept him but as soon as he told us that he wanted to leave we started working, looking for players and trying to do the best deal for the club," said Benitez.

"It has been too long, since May, that he told us he wanted to leave and after the official transfer request we were working very hard.

"The first idea was to keep him, and the second one was to find the best price and the best replacement for us."

AQUILANI SET FOR LIVERPOOL MEDICAL

Midfielder Alberto Aquilani's medical later today could prove to be a pivotal point in his career and Liverpool's future.

Manager Rafael Benitez has identified the Italy international as the ideal replacement for Xabi Alonso, who completed his £30million move to Real Madrid yesterday.

Liverpool and Roma have already agreed a fee, believed to be in the region of £20million, but the 25-year-old must now pass the physical examination.

That will not be as straightforward as it might as the player, who made only 14 league appearances last season, has not played since Roma crashed out of the Champions League against Arsenal on March 11.

He underwent surgery on his right ankle in May but must prove he is over the injury if Liverpool are to justify spending two-thirds of their income from the Alonso deal.

"Alberto is a very good player and I'm delighted we've reached agreement with Roma for his transfer," said Benitez, who has been an admirer of the player for some time.

"Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League.

He has long been recognised as a top-class talent in Italy, captaining his country at both Under-19 and Under-21 levels before establishing himself in the senior national side."

The Aquilani purchase and Alonso sale have been running in tandem for some weeks.

Once the Alonso deal was completed, and the first instalment of the fee banked, Liverpool were able to finalise the deal for Aquilani.

Benitez revealed he had harboured hopes of keeping Alonso out of the clutches of Real even though the player told him two months ago he wanted to leave.

"We would have liked to have kept him but as soon as he told us that he wanted to leave we started working, looking for players and trying to do the best deal for the club," said the Reds boss.

"It has been too long, since May, that he told us he wanted to leave and after the official transfer request we were working very hard.

"The first idea was to keep him, and the second one was to find the best price and the best replacement for us."

Alonso yesterday passed his medical and signed a five-year deal with Real.

The 27-year-old is Madrid's eighth and final summer signing, taking their spending to more than £220million in just two months.

Madrid president Florentino Perez has also brought in Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Raul Albiol, Esteban Granero, Arbeloa, Alvaro Negredo and Karim Benzema as he attempts to build a team capable of challenging Barcelona's treble winners.

Benitez, however, will certainly spend again in the next few weeks and may well now move for Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin.

Having seen Sami Hyypia leave on a free transfer for Bayer Leverkusen and Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel both struck down by hamstring and back injuries respectively in pre-season Liverpool are short of defensive cover.

REPORT: HUNTELAAR SET FOR MILAN MOVE

Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is reportedly set to join AC Milan.

The Holland international moved to the Santiago Bernabeu in January but he has failed to shine during his time in La Liga and is now set for a switch to the San Siro, according to Spanish daily Marca.

The fee for the former Ajax striker iwill reportedly be between 15 and 18million Euros and Real have confirmed that talks with the Italian giants are ongoing as they look to reduce the size of their squad after a massive summer spending spree.

Huntelaar has already turned down a move to Stuttgart this summer and Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in securing the striker's signature.

FC Twente striker Marko Arnautovic will join Inter Milan on loan for the season, according to the Eredivisie club.

The Serie A champions also have the option to buy the 20-year-old Austrian with any future deal likely to be based on the number of appearances he makes for Inter.

Arnautovic made his debut for Twente in 2007 and has scored 14 goals in 58 matches.

HILL-WOOD: CESC FABREGAS STAYING PUT

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood insists there is "absolutely no chance" captain Cesc Fabregas will leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The 22-year-old is under contract with the Gunners until 2014 but his future has once again been the subject of much speculation this close-season, with AC Milan having emerged as the latest big-name club to target the Spain midfielder.

However, Hill-Wood does not expect Fabregas to be following Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure out of the north London club's exit door.

He said: "There is absolutely no chance of us selling Cesc and all this talk is just fabrication.

"This sort of thing crops up from time to time and it is something we are perfectly used to. Cesc is happy at Arsenal, as far as I am aware."

AGENT: NEGREDO EYES ROMA MOVE

Alvaro Negredo would be interested in joining Roma, according to the Real Madrid forward's agent.

Negredo's future at the Bernabeu is uncertain following the summer captures of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

The 23-year-old has spent the last two years on loan at Almeria and it is expected he could seal another season-long deal for the new campaign.

It is claimed interest from the Premier League is mounting, with Liverpool mentioned as suitors, while Roma have been linked with a move for his signature.

"We have heard talk of Roma from the media," Negredo's agent, Alejandro Camano, told Radio Radio.

"Right now I am in England for negotiations with four or five clubs, but I have not yet heard from anyone at the Giallorossi.

"Roma are a big club and they have Francesco Totti, one of the best players in the world. It would be an honour for Negredo to play with a team of this level."

He added: "Real would like to keep hold of the player and not sell him. The Spanish directors are focusing on him and their objective is to loan him out so he can return later.

"His transfer market value is around £15.5million."

MILAN AGREE HUNTELAAR DEAL

AC Milan have confirmed that an agreement has been made with Real Madrid to sign striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Rossoneri chief officer Adriano Galliani revealed that a deal had been reached between the two clubs for the 25-year-old striker.

He told Sky Italia: "The agreement has already been closed with Real Madrid. The Dutch player will be in Milan this evening (Thursday)."

After a successful spell at Ajax, Huntelaar joined Spanish giants Real in January 2009, but fell down the pecking order after president Florentino Perez embarked on his second Galactico spending spree.

New Milan coach Leonardo targeted the Holland international after negotiations for Sevilla's Luis Fabiano broke down.

Tottenham, Arsenal and Stuttgart were all rumoured to be tracking the striker, but he is now set to finalise a move to the San Siro.

MOURINHO UNHAPPY WITH BLUES

Inter Milan head coach Jose Mourinho has accused former club Chelsea of making it "very difficult" for him to raid Stamford Bridge.

The Nerazzurri had looked primed to complete a double deal for Portuguese duo Ricardo Carvalho and Deco this summer after declaring their interest.

However Inter failed to agree deals for the duo, forcing Mourinho to look elsewhere and claim Chelsea moved the goalposts in the negotiations.

"It's very difficult for a Chelsea player to come to me," said the former Blues boss ahead of Saturday's Italian Super Cup against Lazio.

"Every time I'm interested in one of their players, it looks different."

Mourinho believed the players were available at knock-down prices and that as soon as Inter's interest was declared, the prices sky-rocketed.

"In the summer we were told he (Deco) was almost free to come," he continued.

"Two weeks later, when they know Inter are interested, it goes zero to five (million) and for Carvalho from five to 15 (million). Something like that."

CACERES IN JUVE MOVE

Uruguay international Martin Caceres has joined Juventus on a season-long loan from Barcelona, the Spanish club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old defender made only 13 appearances as the Catalans claimed the treble last season and has been told he does not feature in the plans of Barca coach Pep Guardiola.

The deal gives Juve first option to sign Caceres permanently at the end of the season, with Barcelona slapping a 12million euro price tag on the player's head in a statement on www.fcbarcelona.cat, which confirmed the deal this evening.

Caceres took part in a training session with his new team-mates on Thursday and will attend Juve's pre-season friendly against Villarreal in Salerno.

VIEIRA DEAL NOT CLOSE - WENGER

Arsene Wenger admits the club are no closer to bringing former captain Patrick Vieira back to Arsenal.

The Gunners had looked ready to move for their ex-midfield enforcer, who left for Juventus in 2005, before the new Barclays Premier League season kicks off at Everton next weekend.

The 33-year-old France international is reportedly surplus to requirements at Inter Milan, and a return to the club with which he enjoyed nine glorious years at Highbury seemed on the cards.

However, Wenger - who also feels Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh has been overpriced by Bordeaux - revealed an imminent announcement on Vieira was not in the pipeline.

"Not at the moment, no," said Wenger, when asked if they were close to completing a deal from Vieira.

"We can still make do with one or two players more.

"One could be in the defensive areas, and one in the attacking areas."

Wenger, speaking at Arsenal's charity launch at the Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, added: "We make a few enquires for players, but we are nowhere near to signing anybody at the moment.

"Usually the transfer market speeds up from August 26 up to midnight on 31st - especially in the last two hours."

With both striker Emmanuel Adebayor and defender Kolo Toure having joined big-spending Manchester City, Wenger certainly has the funds available should he wish to spend.

Meanwhile, Czech winger Tomas Rosicky suffered a slight setback to his recovery, picking up a hamstring injury in training following a return to action after some 18 months on the sidelines.

"Six weeks ago I did not know how strong Eduardo would come back, or how strong Rosicky would come back, despite the setback he has had," said the Arsenal manager, whose side complete their pre-season campaign at Valencia on Saturday.

"I believe they will play an important part in our season.

"Eduardo, after the first surgery, did not look perfect, but after the second surgery he looks to have come back to a normal level, and he is a massive player."

Defender Philippe Senderos, though, looks set to leave Emirates Stadium.

The Swiss international, loaned to AC Milan last season, is in talks with Everton.

"There is an interest from Everton, but he is still our player," said Wenger.

"He has an opportunity to go because he only has one year left on his contract, so we will see what happens next week."

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Fulham centre-back Brede Hangeland as a possible defensive addition but while Wenger admitted the Norwegian was on his radar, he insisted no deal was on the cards.

"We had a look at him, but we have not contacted Fulham, have not contacted Hangeland and have not made our choice on him or anybody else," he said.

Wenger attended today's launch along with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and England winger Theo Walcott, with actress Barbara Windsor, also at the famous children's hospital.

Arsenal have chosen GOSH as their charity of the season, and will aim to raise some £500,000 to help build a new Lung Function Unit.

Wenger was impressed by the character shown at the hospital.

He said: "For us, it is lesson because we live in a privileged world, we are healthy and sporty.

"To see how strong these boys who fight in these units are, is always a great lesson for us."

(reopens) Fabregas told Press Association Multi-media: "We are always looking forward to a new season," Fabregas told the Press Association (Multi-Media)

"You never know what can happen. We are all very positive.

"Hopefully we can achieve our targets, the same as we want to with the charity. Let's hope this year we achieve all our targets - not just in football, but outside football as well."

ATHLETIC AVOID EMBARRASSING EXIT

Athletic Bilbao avoided an embarrassing Europa League exit at the hands of Swiss side Young Boys as they sneaked into the play-off round on away goals.

The Spanish cup finalists lost the first leg of their third qualifying round tie 1-0 last week but goals from Fernando Llorente and Iker Muniain put them on course in Berne.

There was still time for Joetex Frimpong to level the scores on aggregate in injury-time but it was not enough for the hosts.

Former European Cup winners Red Star Belgrade mounted an even more impressive comeback to defeat Dinamo Tbilisi 5-4 on aggregate.

Having lost the first leg 2-0 in Georgia, the Serbians trailed in the tie for all but the final moments as Dejan Lekic netted his hat-trick goal in the 88th minute to put them 5-2 ahead on the night.

Italian giants Roma put Gent to the sword, captain Francesco Totti grabbing a hat-trick in a 7-1 victory in Belgium - six of the goals coming in the second half - as they romped through 10-2 on aggregate.

Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven were again unconvincing as an own goal from Mamoutou Coulibaly gave them a 1-0 win over Bulgarians Cherno More, 2-0 on aggregate.

Galatasaray had no such troubles, beating Israel's Maccabi Netanya 6-0 to secure a 10-1 aggregate romp. Shabani Nonda helped himself to a hat-trick.

City rivals Fenerbahce settled for a 1-1 draw against Hungarians Honved, going through 6-2 on aggregate.

Last season's semi-finalists Hamburg lost 1-0 to Randers, although the Germans still eased through 4-1, but Portugal's Braga are out, losing 2-0 to Elfsborg of Sweden on the night and 4-1 over the two legs.

Hapoel Tel Aviv comfortably maintained their advantage over Sweden's Gothenburg, a 1-1 draw on the night giving them a surprise 4-2 aggregate victory.

French outfit Lille left it late to beat Sevojno, with goals in the last 18 minutes from Yohan Cabaye and Tulio De Melo making it 4-0 on aggregate.

Club Brugge edged past Finnish side Lahti 4-3, with Joseph Akpala scoring the opener for the Belgians in a 1-1 draw.

Sturm Graz made home advantage count, thumping FK Petrovac 5-0 to ease through but countrymen Rapid Vienna needed extra-time to see off Cypriots APOP, Christopher Trimmel scoring the vital goal in the 111th minute.

Austria Vienna made it a triple celebration but they, too, left it late, netting twice in the last 10 minutes to progress 5-3 against Vojvodina after the Serbians had looked set to win on away goals.

Two goals from Alexander Frei helped Basle to a 3-1 win over KR of Reykjavik after a draw in the first leg while Holland's NAC Breda beat Polonia Warsaw 4-1 on aggregate.

Legia Warsaw are also out after two goals from Max Von Schlebrugge gave Brondby the edge on away goals as the tie ended 3-3.

Fellow Danish outfit Odense BK beat Rabotnicki 3-0 and 7-3 overall while Zilina scored the only goal in their second leg against Hajduk Split to progress 2-1 on aggregate.

Qarabag of Azerbaijan progressed with a 3-1 aggregate win over Finns FC Honka, Czechs Liberec beat Vaduz 2-0 for a comfortable 3-0 win on aggregate while Kosice of Slovakia easily saw off Slavija 5-1 in their tie.

Lech Poznan lost 2-1 to Fredrikstad but still cruised to a 7-3 aggregate victory while Norwegians Tromso beat Slaven Koprivnica 2-0 for a 4-1 overall victory.

In other ties, Metalurg Donetsk raced past Ljubljana 5-0 on aggregate, Metalist Kharkiv beat Rijeka 2-0 on the night and 4-1 overall and PAOK edged past Valerenga on away goals despite losing 1-0 on the night.

Israeli side Bnei Yehuda also qualified for the play-off round with a 1-0 win over Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal giving them a 2-0 aggregate victory.

And FK Sarajevo won 5-4 on penalties after beating Helsingborgs 2-1 on the night to draw 3-3 on aggregate.

AQUILANI EXCITED BY REDS MOVE

Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani is looking forward to completing his move to Liverpool.

The Italy international is expected to seal his switch to Anfield on Friday after a deal in the region of £20million was agreed between the two clubs.

Aquilani is set to replace Xabi Alonso, who has left for Real Madrid, as manager Rafa Benitez plots his side's challenge for the Premier League title.

The 25-year-old has thoroughly enjoyed his time at Roma but is looking forward to the next chapter of his career.

"Obviously I feel very sorry to leave my city and Roma," said Aquilani.

"But should the deal be completed with Liverpool it would be fantastic to play with players like (Steven) Gerrard and (Fernando) Torres and the others.

"Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"I am moving on. I want to cordially thank all the Roma fans, who were like neighbours to me and me to them. I was always a fan of Rome and still am."

INTER COMPLETE ARNAUTOVIC LOAN

Inter Milan have completed the signing of FC Twente forward Marko Arnautovic on a season-long loan deal.

Arnautovic has long been linked with a move to the San Siro but a foot injury he picked up in the KNVB Beker Cup final in May appeared to have scuppered the deal.

However, the Serie A champions confirmed the 20-year-old will be part of Jose Mourinho's squad next season.

A brief statement on inter.it, read: "F.C. Internazionale announce they have deposited this morning the necessary documents for the transfer of the Austrian attacker Marko Arnautovic from Twente to the Nerazzurri.

"The two clubs agreed that it will be a loan deal with the option to buy."

MOURINHO WARNS AGAINST COMPLACENCY

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho has warned his players against complacency ahead of Saturday's Supercoppa clash against Lazio.

The Nerazzurri have lifted the trophy on three of the past four occasions while it has been nine years since Lazio won it, by beating Inter 4-3.

Mourinho knows it would mean more for the capital club but, with the possibility of equalling AC Milan's record of five Supercoppa titles, he has urged his players to give their all.

"It will be a challenge of motivation," said the Inter boss. "I've also told my players that: we have to have the same motivation, or even more, than Lazio.

"For them it will be an historic game because they have not won this trophy for so long, we are used to winning and so we have to have the same motivation to bring the Supercoppa back to Italy."

It will be a new-look Inter that take to the pitch in Beijing, with new boys Samuel Eto'o, Diego Milito, Lucio and Thiago Motta, and without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Julio Cruz, Maxwell and Luis Figo among others.

And Mourinho hopes they can gel quickly.

"It's difficult, at this point in the season, to say at what point we're at," he added. "We are a new team compared to last season.

"It's obvious that, in this situation, the more time you have to work the better you click, because the players get to know each other better because everything becomes natural the more you repeat the exercises.

"But we don't have time so we have to make the most of all our qualities to win this game."

Beating Inter would be a massive boost to Lazio's confidence ahead of the new season.

And midfielder Matuzalem, who missed the Coppa Italia final through suspension, knows it would be one of his greatest moments.

"I consider this match to be very important," he told Corriere dello Sport. "I hold it dear. It's a final.

"We're playing for a trophy. It's surely one of the most important matches of my career.

"I won two league titles with Shakhtar Donetsk and a Ukraine Cup. But this Supercoppa has a different taste.

"I hope to beat Inter."
