Brief look at the box - got it on Saturday and I am very new to playing with satellite so its a learning curve.

Packaging is very basic, Box itself decent build quality, its very small about half the size of a SLY HD box.

I managed to setup the box with FTA - flashed a number of times. First impression is its very fast and it appears feature rich. Tons of plugins - overwhelming a little.

I have a USB network adapter , plugged that in and it was recognised straight away - quite impressed with that.

Picture quality is decent.

Box is silent - i have added a 1TB HD , no issues , recorded 5 mins from chan 4 and played back without issue.

Using Backhole 1.7.9.3.

Sorry for crap update - after Christmas period might get a bit more time to play and try some other more exotic features.

happy Christmas.

Just shout if you have any questions.

away with family over festive period

Thanks a lot @isenguard!!
Well... if you ask me... then I tell you :p

1080p mkv files seems great then, since should be the media type file I have here more :)

But, how it goes with:

- mkv files (or other video type) with external subtitles, like we do on our PC's when we download some TV series with our own subtitles there (in .srt type).
- .iso (from DVD's) are running well too??
- old .avi/divx are ok too? :)

And with audio files, like .mp3 and .flac (it's what I have more)? :)

Thanks a lot to support my questions!

Merry Christmas! ;)

i found an old AVI video with srt subtitles

the video was played OK but NO subtitles appeared

i tested the same file on my LG TV through the same DLNA server and the file worked with subtitles shown.

maybe it just needs a fix

i have no iso files to test

mp3 not tested but any mediaplayer should play this basic format :)

Thanks both of you guys! ;)
Then, maybe this only needs a subtitle fix and will be ok. Or maybe there's some plugin for that already, no? :)

Thanks once again and Merry Christmas ;)

Just a little tip about external .srt subtitles with any format mkv, avi, iso, etc. The subtitles must have the same name as the video played, that is exactly the same name,with/without spaces or any other characters. And most important, the .srt fle must be encoded in UTF-8 format and not ANSI. You could do that very easy, through any editor software, such as notepad, and select the option save as, and drop down the utf-8 option. After that send it through ftp to your box, press play on the video, and select the subtitle option form yellow button-press 2 times- or the subtitle button. Good luck.
P.S. This worked on every enigma2 box i have had so far,Vu or DM

i confirm it did NOT work even after changing the srt file from ANSI to UTF-8...maybe sthg wrong here but that s what i get :)

in the same time my smart TV still reads the subtitles without any problems at all ( both as ANSI and UTF-8)

Yea, maybe could be a little bug that needs to be fixed (as far as I can see) :)

Thanks for your tests @isenguard.

As far as I understood, the main differences are in plugins too. They are using the same drivers from VU :)
