Is the current software safe for clones?

I stopped using this receiver years ago when software that could destroy the box was out.
my receiver is a xtreme msr slim type model
If software is safe I will start using it again.
btw: what cards are supported in the cardreader?

first, look into your receiver to know what file you use in, to do that go to the menu\system setup\system information.
then choose the correct file and send it to your receiver.
and for the card-reader, that depend of the card and the file used in the receiver.
