Hi, Does anyone know if the power from the internal usb port is activated when the Dreambox is switched on / off unlike the rear ports which are power on all the time

eg, watching tv = power on

Standby = Power off

it is on all the time too.
if you want a power supply to be off during the standby time get one from scart pins

Hi Farpadana

Nice idea, that of scart pins! Please tell which of the pins can do the job?I'm getting powered a pc adapted fan from USB and it's non stop.it's a DM800hd clone 2.01

Attached is a pic of how I added fans to my DM800...
The transistor is a BC639 with the flat surface facing down,the 2 resistors are 10 k ohm 0.25 watt types.
The resistor on the left is soldered to the 4th pin from the left on the TOP row of pins of the scart socket.
Use a 30watt soldering iron with a small tip,do not try this with a 100w soldering gun as you will fook your decoder up.
I connected 2 x 12v 50mm diameter fans to the red and black wires shown in the pic.
They can be connected in series or parallel.
red wire shown on the left of pic and black wire on right hand side going to fans.
I connected them in series,the fans run at half speed and are quieter,last longer and still cool the box sufficiently.
fans are attached to top of box with cable ties,above tuner where most heat comes from.
when box is put into standby fans stop.
If anything is not clear just ask.
All credit to the original poster of this mod on austech,i just modded it to drive more than 1 fan and to reduce load on DM800 circuitry.(from Clanser):D
